um yea dont count your chickens before they hatch. a good game takes time to make. i know game series that have come back after longer

They have some loose ends to tie up, Sly himself(in a letter SP wrote) said that a thief couldn't stay still for long. I also think that Sly will come back because I doubt SP would just give up on Sly Cooper and the Gang.

Kingdom Hearts II was released FOUR years after the original! I'm sure there will be a Sly 4, but they haven't said anything about it because not enough progress has been made. Besides, Sucker Punch wouldn't disappoint all the Sly Cooper fans like that, especially with that cliffhanger from Bentley mentioning his time machine.

is that really a cliffhanger though? it confuses me. i like my cliffhangers to prove that there will be another game eg. the end of god of war II

Well, it was the same thing as Sly 2. I wasn't sure if they were going to make a three. Because it seemed that everything tied up except for the question about "Will Sly reunite with the gang?" In 3, it was "Is Sly going to come back into thieving, and what's going on with the time machine?"

Considering it's been a Playstation series, they're probably waiting for sales on the PS3 to pickup. Unfortunately, these games are aimed at younger audiences, and younger audiences at the moment, are the brunt of those missing out on the next gen systems due to its price. Folks who're working and can buy the consoles themselves are less likely to have this problem, and they don't typically make up the Sly series demographic. Wait around for the PS3 to pickup, big titles coming at the end of this year. That should set things off again.

There is a possibility of it, but most series don't go over 3. Some do, like Jak and Daxter, so we do have a chance.

good series do manage it though. legacy of kain and tony hawk are series that spring to mind

I hope they make a Sly 4, what more to say? I like the Sly games, especially Sly 3.

I'm sure soon enough that Sly 4 will be coming soon, I really don't think Suckerpunch will give it up, or so I hope.
