If you've been keeping up with the PS3 you will know that the main feature of the system will be the Blu-ray disk drive which will end the era for DVD's and bring forth a new generation of high-definition media storage. It is also one of the two leading high-defintion formats in development.

Among the first to be released on this format is going the be Stargate Atlantis. It will become one of the first television shows to be put onto this format, and is currently being redied for a release of around Summer 2006 around the time the PS3 will be released.

With Sony's current war against Toshiba's HD-DVD technology, this may help boost the sales of the medium.

That'd be cool, but I'll probably buy the DVD collection since it fits better with the rest and Blu-ray is in a very young stage.

It should do really should'nt it??? I mean theirs enough space! Infact this will encourage me to buy more TV Series because in the past I have been thinking about the amount off space that a box set takes.

One DVD usually had 4.7, most seasons were 6 DVD's with all the extra's and stuff, I think it will be two disks instead of the normal six - as a dual layer is 50Gigs, and a normal dvd set totals 96Gigs.

The thought of it almost makes me drool.

It would put forward another reason to get the PS3. Actually, there has also been some talk on there being a Blu-Ray disk drive as a peripheral for the Xbox 360 now.

Having it on two disks would be nice, but what would the cost of these disks be.

I reckon when they first come out it will be £20 for a movie so maybe a box series would prob stay about the same right? I mean it would be cheaper to create 1 Blu-Ray disk instead of 6 DVDs???

As for it being in 360 thats not true Microsoft are thinking of putting in the HD-DVD into it but that will be sold sepratly.
