Well, Krunal you should know that Season 9 was actually supposed to be a spin-off of SG-1. So if you ask me yes, I do think it is almost like a new show.

No Stargate Atlantis is the spin-off

Its funny but they were actually thinking about renaming the series Stargate Command as opposed to SG-1, but as for a spin-off goes, its not COMPLETELY different from Stargate Seasons 1-8 like Atlantis is (I mean a whole new galaxy, technology and stuff)

Well, in this interview Michael Shanks(Dr.Daniel Jackson) clearly says that "Season 9 was supposed to be a sort of spin-off" Like you said it was supposed to be called "Stargate Command" He also mentions that in the interview.

Michael's opinion on the topic which you are discussing is that it is still the good old Stargate SG-1 we all know and love.

I wish they would have called it Stargate Command cause season 9 and up won't really fit into my DVD collection since it's supposed to be only 8 seasons. Text on the side of the boxes and all...

Not al at its all good same cast and crew near enough , and a great season , atlantis is the spin off but that is great too

i wouldnt say it is a whole new show, maybe if thet changed the whole cast it might be. they still contineud having ba'aal(not sure how to spell)in for a while, not sure if he dead yet so the gua'ld have still been around.

With his ever present army of clones... I doubt he'll be gone any time soon, he's one of my favourite (and most hated) goa'ulds in the show ^^

Yeah, I like them keeping around Ba'al too, he's definitely the smartest and best of all the goa'uld (well he was smart enough to obey Anubis, defeat the replicators, survive the whole thing and then to clone himself and survive. He'll be a challenge, even to the Ori, he's not someone to be taken lightly, especially with the technology he gained from serving Anubis.

And I don't mind the change too much, it's still SG1 to me, but I had hoped they'd keep Jack around, loved his humor. But then again, change is good.
