an annual discussion - which conference is the best? how do we even decide? sometimes people say 1 conference is better because it has some really good teams at the top, but other times we say that the deepest conference is the best. with that in mind, here are my rankings of the BCS conference.
i hate to say this, but i have a tie for 1st(maybe it's just my bias).
1. SEC - top 6 teams (not sold on alabama? look it up. the tide were 3-0 before brodie went down last year.)are very talented, and either 1 could be eventual conference champ. however, there is a huge gap between those 6 and the bottom 6.
1. Big 10 - probably the best conference from top to bottom, but only 3 look like real contenders to me. i can't help but think that purdue is overrated, they just have an easy schedule.
3. ACC - possibly equal in overall talent to the SEC, and could move into the #1 spot by the end of the season. plus (IMO) the 2 most athletic players in the country are in this conference -- ahmad brooks and mario williams
4. Big 12 - 2 really good teams in the south. 2 others will compete in the south, but the north is awful.
5. Pac10 - nothing to say about USC. aside from the trojans, there are some dangerous teams that we shouldn't sleep on. however, as of right now, i don't see any of them being very competitive on the national scene
6. Big East - it has been the weakest conference for years, and it still is.

SEC is easily the best and most talented....
