First of all, I have to say that Hitman2 is one of the best games I have ever played on my PC. I personally adore those types of games where you have to be silent BUT deadly !!

Graphics, performance and gameplay are all working like a charm for me with this game. But audio seems to be a bit defective.

My problem does not consist of sound quality but it consists of the direction from where sounds come from.

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy (with EAX support) chipset. As for the speaker system, I have a Samsung Hi-Fi system with a 5-speaker set system --> Left, Right, Rear Left and Right, and center.

Now my particular problem is that when I play hitman 2, objects or enemies that are positioned in the center of the screen release a very low amount of sound volume.

For example...... I am watching a cinematic where there are two persons talking, one of them is currently positioned on the right of the screen and the other one is in the centre of the screen. I can hear the one on the right quite clearly but I can barely hear the one in the center speak.

It seems that when there is sound in the middle of the screen, its sound volume goes down. In fact, while playing hitman, I never hear sound coming from my center speaker.

Im quite positive that there is nothing wrong with my speaker since it works fine on other applications. So it must be something about sound compatibility.

Another interesting thing is that when I play hitman2 in first person view, I can hear my weapon firing sound quite well but as soon as I switch back to 3rd person, my weapon almost couldnt be heard firing. It seems as if objects that are in the middle of the screen, make less sound as they move further away from me.

So you might understand that it is a bit annoying not being able to hear objects that are positioned in the middle of my display.

If you cant understand my problem quite clearly, Ill give you another example:

Imagine an enemy is walking in front of me from the left of the screen across to my right end of the screen. While he is walking, he is supposed to make sounds of footsteps right ? So he starts walking from the left and I can hear his footsteps clearly......now......as soon as he starts approaching the centre of my screen, his footsteps will start to die out and I can almost hear no footsteps at all.........but once he start approacing my right hand side, his footsteps will start to be heard again.

I beleaive Ive had a similiar problem with Tomb Raider if I remember correctly, which is another 3rd person shooter. Dont know whats wrong.

Ahh, Tomb Raider you say? Tomb Raider is also made by Eidos, right? (if its not, then this is pretty much useless, lol) well, if so, try emailing or calling Eidos and telling them what the problem is, or check the help or FAQ section of the website 'cuz chances are, you aren't the only person with this problem.

My point exactly. Tomb Raider was developed by eidos aswell so it might be a connected problem. But I must add that I might have experienced this same problem with Operation Flashpoint at 3rd person view so it might have to do with something else aswell. Im not really sure though.

So where can I send an email to eidos tech support to tell them about my problem please ? What is the email adress to edios tech support ?

I tried to send an email to that email address but all I received where some FAQ's and some other useless emails from eidos which do not deal with my problem at all. Most of the emails sent to me were automatic emails that made no sense to me.

Can anyone give me advice as to where I can get immediate attention on my problem because I really need to solve this issue because it is starting to get a bit annoying.

i, too, have this problem. it's incredibly annoying. if you find/found out whats wrong, please email me. i'd appreciate it. i'll do likewise if i find the problem.
