Hey Guys, Spidey fan by the name of Black Winged Angel is here. Haven't read the Ultimate series but I have a feeling that the game will be good.

Plus I love Mark Bagley art, so since he's involved with the game I'll definitely like it.

Why do I get the feeling that I should be worried?

Well, 99% of the Ultimate re-write is good, and well done, if sometimes slightly rushed. But I was a little disappointed with the new Venom story. How do you feel about Parker and Brock being long-time-no-see childhood friends? Yeah, me neither.

It already did. Go buy the VENOM graphic novel of USM.

I suppose they DO have to throw in some major changes to the classic script, otherwise we'd all know what happens next and get bored, right? I'm kinda getting used to the idea anyway. If the game develops the Venom storyline some more it could work very well. Peter genuinely cares for brock, which makes fighting Venom even HARDER. Anything that makes Venom harder for Spiderman to fight off is a good thing in my book. Venom should be the terrifying bane of Parker's life that we all know him to be.

Well I ordered the first five hardbacks, with 2-4 coming on Saturday. I wanted to get volume 6 (It's got Carnage on the cover. ) but it looks like I have to wait until Sept 15th.

I think it's a good idea with the re-write, but tell me. Are some of the re-writes very unpredictable, like you never saw it coming? Try not to mention any big spoilers though.

I would have never guessed that. The only way I could see Peter and Eddy being childhood friends is by Eddy continuously bullying Peter.

There are one or two major changes (*coughGwenStacysDeathcough*) but the main change, a major one, that I really like, is the addition of a "Bigger Picture". In this new world, spidey isnt unexplained, or amazing. The government classifies him as an "Illegal, Unnatural Genetic Mutation", which means there are Legal ones, and Natural ones. Basically, Mutations are a hot "currant issues" topic, and the whole government has it "organised"... leading to the "Ultimates", lead by a black nick fury, who kinda puts me in mind of Samuel L Jackson. So cool. So, instead of Spidey just having adventures and beating bad guys up, the whole comic world feels bigger~(not just physically) and more important.

Yo. Normally, I utterly detest Ultimate marvel, and the ultimate Venom saga is what made me begin my hatred for Ultimate Spider-man. But, a Spidey game is a Spidey game. And man, this one looks badass.

I'm not a fan of the Ultimate series, but I can't resist reading the Graphic novels in bookshops to see what they'll %$£* up next, and I can't pass up a Spidey game...
What Wire Frame said above though about the whole government being much more involved in the whole superhero thing though, That I like, it makes much more sense than the old comics where the Army would just turn up to be cannon fodder for Villain-of-the-week. And Fury is cool and has some nasty but intriguing plans for Spidey....
