Ok, I don't see no problem of having a General Discussion thread to chat about Blitz:The League. Anyways you guys can chat about anything having to do with Blitz:The League

I hate this game.

CPU assist is the worst thing to happen to sports games.

Ill never understand why they think it is a good idea to punish someone for playing well.

Its not possible to play a mistake free game of football when playing Blitz. People who pride themselves on being efficient, and not turning over the ball, and playing solid football are just going to get repeatedly robbed on this game.

Get a lead, and you cant do anything right. Not until the CPU gets close again. Only now, not only does the CPU take the football from you with BS fumbles and INTS, they can also now easily injure your best players at the drop of a hat.

File this right next to the old Blitz games, NFL Xtreme, Arena League, NFL Street 1 and 2. Its more of the same BS.

With EA cornering the market, I was hoping that Midway would put out another football game to compete with Madden. Not this arcadey bullshit that has been rehashed 50 times over.


Is it too much to ask of a programming team to just put in intelligent AI and not resort to CPU assist to keep the games close? Thats the stupidest thing Ive ever seen.

Just having the ball repeatedly taken from you, and having your best players injured over and over again. Yay. So much fun.

I agree with you Stinger, this game is very fustrating and can be a major bitch when it comes to diffuculty. But despite having alot of downfalls, Blitz:The League is still a very fun game and manages to deliver some pretty good gameplay. I must admit though, it is hard to get use to this game if you are a die hard Madden fan.

Blitz does do some things well. The Storyline is neat, the option to buy better equipment, or performance enhancing drugs for better play on the field or to recover from injuries faster.

However, all of these neat features all fall to the wayside when youre playing the game and just getting jobbed game after game simply because youre playing pretty good.


Ea sports bought the NFL rights. So if you want football, you have to go through them to get it.

I was hoping that midway, despite not having the NFL license, would at least put out another realistic football game to at least offer something different.

Not this 1st and 30, CPU assist crap that has been done to death and just isnt any fun.

Its not even 11 on 11 squads. You cant make trades, hell, you cant even adjust the depth chart of which player plays a certain position. You get 10 seconds to pick your play, and if you cant find the play youre looking for, the CPU picks some ridiculous play that doesnt work 99% of the time.

This game is fun in small doses, against another human player only. Playing the CPU offers nothing but aggravation, as you sit and watch the opposing team take the ball from you time after time when they need to get close on the scoreboard, and if that doesnt work they start knocking your players out of the game.

CPU assist flat out sucks.

If I have a better team, I expect my players to play to their full potential. Not play down to the level of the competition just because I have a 2 score lead. It makes no sense.

I agree with you on alot of those aspects Stinger.

-The 1st & 30/ 10 second play calling is bullshit, not only are you in a rush but is it hard to drive 30 yards when rushed to pick a good play.

-Same go's with the players you can have on the field, you only get to have 3 offensive line men compared to 5 in real life. And the defense always seems to break through the line like they were playing little kids.

-Like you said, you don't have an option to trade for a key player or even release a certain player. This really would have helped to lose some scrubs, it is not like they couldn't have added a salary cap to do so.

-This really got to me, you can't create your own player. I really would have loved to, but seeing as you can't view or edit rosters it would be pointless.

Yeah, not getting to create a player sucked hardcore. Just another puzzling thing from Midway, especially given that the most recent games like this, NFL Street 1 & 2 allow you to create several players if you want to.

I don't really like how they did it with the created teams, they could have put more detail into it.

Mine was the Kansas City Savages, with the picture of the Indian Chief as the logo.

Pretty sweet, it sucks they didn't announce the full name of your created team. Put together pretty shitty with the storyline mode which is suppose to be where all the action go's on.
