Not responding?

Hello Neoseeker, I recently purchased the orange box for my Laptop, which is running Vista, and I forget what graphics card. Either way, I managed to beat Half life 2, which ran just fine, apart from long loading and sometimes I had to turn down the specs. Eitherway, I started play Ep1, and it ran fine. I quit out of it to check something, when I try to run it again, now it wont respond. Im really disspoined, because it may of just been $40, but its still abit of money for me, and I would like to run my game. Does anyone have a solution for this?

re: Not responding?

Have you tried reïnstalling? It could be a wide variety of stupid little problems that are usually fixed with a reïnstall...

So try that and let us know how that goes.

You know how time consuming reinstalling on steam is?? Defrag the game data then verify it then see if it works.

re: Not responding?

It takes less time than defragging and then reïnstalling.

Chance to fix problem with defragging is only a few percent at max. It is very likely you'll still have to reïnstall after.

re: Not responding?

Depends on your internet connection for reinstalling. It takes me 12 hours to download Episode 1.

Yes, let's assume that the reinstall time is t1 and that the defrag time is t2.

What you are now saying is that t1 is NOT less than t1 + t2. See the contradiction?

Also, it took me less than that on a slow connection. Only three hours to install Episode 1.
