only a fool waits half a minuite for a fight to start and end, totalling one minuite of time spent looking at motionles sprites- per fight out of thousands.

i got up to where you break out of prison to fight those unicorns, then ran around that crypt for ages without getting anywhere so i thought **** this.

oh i do, it was too frustrating, id finish a battle and think yay now i can move again, and as im just about to leave the room, i get another one- so then its another 4 minuite wait, fighting jellyfish and blobs becomes very tedious.
i dont have a problem with turn based rpg's (ff7, ff8 chronotrigger =amazing) it was the waiting along with that patronising victory music.

i understand that, and i think your being bias because you like the game, just go and play a battle and time how long it takes to finish a round. to long imo

well dont forget it is on a UMD so that may affect it aswell

The only thing I'll say on this topic here is they should've put an option in for "Quick battle graphics" y'know where you don't have to sit there for ages while a move's being executed (War Shout anyone?).
Apart from that, when I just wanna get through a part of the game with minimal battles I just equip a Holy Mantle (which can be obtained early on in the game).
