Is this legal? |
|
Ok, I'm just wondering if it is legal or not to put a rented DVD onto your ipod video. I have a feeling I'm not supposed to do it, but can anybody clear it up for me

Its illegal unless you own it. Then technically since you bought it, you bought the rights to view it in private and as long as you dont sell tickets to watch the dvd on your ipod, its fine. Just purchase the movie, then it is legal.

Only if you delete it the moment you return it to the rental place, and even then I'm not sure.
Either way, its illegal to copy movies you do not own. ------------------- quote TurMoiL911 | |

No, you can't copy movies that you rented. That's illegal. You can only back up movies that you own. However, the catch is that some countries have laws making it illegal to bypass copy protection on DVDs.
