How to post a request thread

Over the last few months, the quality of many request threads has declined greatly. This makes things more difficult for the wiki administration when it comes to evaluate requests to determine if it's actually worth giving a series a wiki. This thread is designed to help you become more familiar with how a request should be formatted.
  • Link to every related profile on Neoseeker: This is one of the first steps and is very critical. This should be done in a logical fashion and link to the profile, not the forum.
  • Give a detailed background on the series: Explain what it's about. Describe some of the features. Prove that there's plenty of content for a wiki.
  • Map out potential content: Give an outline of the things you think should be included in the wiki. The more detailed, the better.
  • List any wiki admin support you have: We don't blindly support just any wiki request we come across, though a wiki admin throwing his weight behind your request will give it a boost. Many requests have been made without one of us having officially supported it, though many have been made with our support.
  • Think things through and make your arguments logical and factual: Don't try to compare Fire Emblem with Warzone or Final Fantasy with Mother. While the games may be in the same genre, they are each vastly different. The same goes for wiki requests. If one wiki is created, the circumstances surrounding that wiki will be much different from the circumstances surrounding yours. The wiki admin team knows why wikis have been created that have seemed less deserving than the one you've requested. We're no strangers to picking logic apart and making you prove your request is viable.

Example Requests

This post will link to some of the best presented requests that have been posted in this forum. It would be to your advantage to learn from these requests, see how things were done, and apply it to your own request in your own fashion.
