Kazooieman, your help will be much appreciated and good luck with your cricket. I'm a cricket player myself. I won't lie, I am very disappointed with Simon's sudden lack of activity. It was just a couple of months ago that he was planning everything out with myself to try and get the wiki into order. When I get some free time, hopefully over the half term holidays next week, I will do as much work as possible but I'm not going to force others to work on the wiki. Aslong as the wiki is back up and running the the near future I'm a happy man, despite not being a staff member I still care about the wiki because the contributors and staff are awesome people and do a fantastic job. (y)

If any of you are to start work on the wiki again, I cannot stress how important it is to get rid of the stub pages. We need to flesh them out much much more. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

I will get round to aorting as much out as possible. Its a shame because it seems that I am the only one who is contribtuing to the wiki apart from a few little edits here and there from a few others. Its a shame a few of the old wiki editers stopped.

I'm not going to let you make everyone else take the blame. Not this time. The fact is, in 2 and a half months, the only page you have worked on is the Hermione Granger page. Good page though it may be, that is absolutely ridiculous. You started contributing at the start of August, didn't for the rest of the month, didn't contribute at all in September, and only started again when Shayn encourage people not to let the project die. And spacious edits? Please. Benedict, nancydetective, Dragoon and Simon have all done their part when they could. But you...you're just being absolutely ridiculous. Has it not occured to you that while you continuously spit out the excuse that you're "extremely busy", some other people may be too? That's a DAMN shame, that some people other than yourself may have busy schedules. Think about others for once. Simon's absence I am, again, not excusing; I even said to Shayn that Simon should've at least made an announcement. But I'm not talking on behalf of Simon. I'm talking on behalf of the people you're trying to make take the blame. Part of a staff member's job is to organise a team of dedicated contributors who will steadily add to the wiki, as well as the staff, who will also make regular contributions. Where is this team? They were contributing while you weren't, and when they realised this, they probably thought "oh what's the point" and gave up. For this wiki, Shayn and Simon have been the only ones responsible for getting a team together. You have done absolutely nothing; you've just said the same things over and over. "I'm busy", "I'll contribute soon", "I'm disappointed", "It's a shame". Get a *bleep*ing grip, ShortMan. ------------------- | |

I am not going to force people to edit the wiki. I am not blaming them either. The fact that I have only been able to edit the Hermione Granger page is for one, that was my main project from the start and two, I have been studying for my GCSE exams at school. I have notified the contributors many times that I will be inactive but Simon hasn't even notified me. I understand if people have busy schedules and I will not force them to edit the wiki. If they are still interested in editing the wiki, they could at least notify others if they are going to be inactive. I thank Kazooieman and Wuppertal for informing me that they will be editing the wiki after they have cleared most of the schedule. Yes, Shayn has done very well with the wiki and I expect he'll do as well with other wikis.
I am not pointing the blame on anyone else. I am busy, others are busy and I understand. I am going to be categorising pages as soon as possible. The wiki is a mess, I won't lie and I have said about the amount of stub pages. The amount of wanted and short pages is ridculous.

I can't exagurate the importance of the point that I bolded. Please, if you have no experience with templates DO NOT attempt to make one that is needed. Please ask a contributor that knows what they're doing, be that me, Benedict or a wikiadmin. I claim to be no expert with templates, nor am I near fully understanding them, but I know enough to make simple ones, Benedict is somewhat of a genius I swear. He seems to have a much better grasp than me in next to no time, and the wikiadmins should know what they're doing with the templates. :P But seriously guys, I've seen people on the DW wiki (not naming any names or IP's) that have tried to mess with the templates, quite major ones aswell, and it's messed the wiki up phenomenally. So either learn wikicoding yourself or even better approach someone you know that is good with templates.
Chris, my post was by no means a way to make you feel pressurised into editing. I completely understand what you're going through considering I was doing the same in May, and to be honest the government were *bleep*ing stupid to start them a year earlier. However I did find some time to fulfill my duty as a Staff at that time, even if it meant just one edit a night. Personal experience tells me that Studying 24/7 is worse than no studying at all, and I found that wiki editing took my mid of the exams for a bit ad allowed me to relax a little. So although you are staff, and I do partly agree with what Luke was saying. Please understand I am doing my best to take over whilst you and Simon are studying for critical and life changing exams, but it's not all that easy. tl;dr: Don't touch the templates w/o knowledge of how they work, and good luck Shortman and Simon1987 in your upcoming exams. ------------------- | |

They could be, but I would rather trust people to heed what I have said and not mess with any. I had to do so on the DW wiki because major templates were being repeatedly targeted, but un-protected them soon after due to IP bans being issued. But really, contributors should be mature enough to not venture into something they don't understand.
