when do you fight iris

You fight Iris when you have beaten all 8 Maverick bosses and there will be a new stage(after spaceport).Enter and go through it at the first stop,there is Iris.This is only for Zero.

No, after beating the mavericks, you fight Colonel at the Space Port. Then you go to the next level (some weird place, forget where) and you fight Iris. If you're X, it's where you fought Double.

Uh huh, I know, i just made a stupid mistake, that's all. And no need for helps no more because I've already beaten the game!
