Omg I cant belive, this. How can you guys compare Sephiroth to Vergil if you never saw the movie or played the game? I mean seriously, all you people cant just say "Omg Vergil is like, so much cooler! Vergil ftw!" Thats fanboy crap. Helm Breaker, Sephy can block or avoid it without breaking a sweat, and that judgment cut when he dissapears? Sephy can teleport and avoid them all. Sephy can jump alot higher aswell which can play a big role on battle. Not only that but Sephy's sword is disgustingly huge, much bigger than the Yamato, its like 2 Yamatos combined. Iam sorry but Vergil cant win END OF STORY. And if you try to back him up, you know what? Supernova destroys the solar system. You think anybody can survive that? Ummmmmmm no. Thank you.

To be honest, Sephiroth would almost definitely win. He's far stronger than Vergil and has a few powers, like free flight, that would increase his advantage. Vergil may, in all honesty, be slightly faster or more skilled with a sword, but not enough to balance the battle. Sephiroth can cut through buildings, Mundus Vs Sephiroth would be a good match, but while Vergil is awesome he's just not on the same level, and would have a very slim chance of victory.

Anyone from DBZ would wipe them both out, so there you go.

You know i never thought that so many people would favour some Final Fantasy guy over the great Vergil.

I think that Final Fantasy looks dodgy, the characters look crap and it looks like a boring game. Thats why i have never brought a Final Fantasy cus you dont buy a game you dont like the look of. Do you?

Actually you're wrong, I love both Final Fantasy and Devil May Cry, and both Sephiroth and Vergil. Really you're the one behaving like a fan boy, claiming things with no logic to back them up. It doesn't matter if Sephiroth has a giant dildo sticking out of his head, this is not a coolness competition but one of power, and Sephiroth is the main enemy of FFVII, like Mundus is to DMC, his powers far exceed that of Vergil's, who could only hope to match him on a swordsmanship level. I appreciate that you like Vergil, I do too, but your opinion backed by no reasoning proves nothing, for example Sephiroth has more fans than the entire DMC series' cast combined.

So really, you're entitled to your opinion, but that's all it is, just like anyone else's. But in terms of actual power, Sephiroth would wipe the floor with Vergil, during the final fight in Advent Children he literally smashes through multiple walls of buildings without slowing down, which Vergil can't do, otherwise he'd just punch his way to the middle of the Temen-Ni-Gru. Then again, Goku from Dragon Ball Z could kill Vergil, Dante and Sephiroth all together with one finger, and I like all of them much better than Goku, but it doesn't change the fact that in DBZ people can literally destroy planets with their finger.

So in a contest of power, Sephiroth would almost certainly win, and in a contest of popularity, Sephiroth has been winning for the last 10 years and counting. This doesn't invalidate anyone's opinion, but in the same way what one person thinks is just that, an opinion, and nothing more.

Ok, but i am a Devil May Cry fanboy. and Vergil beats everyone except Dante and most of the Resident Evil cast.

So you never even knew who Sephiroth was before you used Google, but you're calling everyone Final Fantasy fanboys just because they don't agree with you? grow up. First of all, I think threads like these are pointless because they always compare two characters from different worlds, therefore making it impossible to make a valid argument. You can't even say that Vergil is faster or more skilled than Sephiroth because we have never even seen Sephiroth in the same environment, except in the Advent Children movie, which obviously isn't a game. However, anyone is kidding themself if they ignore Sephiroth's power. Vergil would never even get close enough to do anything.

Im sorry but i gave my reasons for not playing Final Fantasy. I had a look at it many times,

1) It looks shit.
2) The characters look shit.
3) The game just sounds like a shit concept.

So if YOU saw a game that looked shit would you buy it? no.

Just because i dont agree with everyone else that must mean im childish or acting like a prick. As i said before all of you are Final Fantasy fanboys that think Final Fantasy rules the world.

Also it's quite ironic that a Devil May Cry board would be full of Devil May Cry hating.
