Yeah thats your opinion. A lot of people would agree with it a lot wouldn't.
But getting back on topic. Yes Arkham is more of a god wannabe. BUT Vergil wanted to open the gateway to the demon world. At any cost. Its just Arkham got the better of him. Until later of course.

quote ChimairaVegril wanted access to his father's sword and powers to protect himself, regardless of consequences. Arkham wanted to destroy all that exists and rule on a wasteland as the new king of devils, apparently for shit and giggles. They used each other to gain what they wanted, but Vergil is still the lesser evil. He also, unlike Sephiroth, survives the end of his game. -------------------

Dude that is a very stupid comment, that we all hate DMC, ok look I LOVE DMC, its one of my fav games, seriously, look at my Bio, DMC 1 and 3 are listed as my one of my fav games. BUt just becuase I like the game, doesnt mean its right to deny the power of another character. Oh adn Vergil IS the bad guy Lady Sparda. Using the philosphy that bad guys always lose is kinda like bringing us back to the time of Superman and Batman and whatnot. Unfortunatly these days, bad guys win too.
Oh and Sephy is still alive. ------------------- ![]() "Rock and you shall recieve"

quote Zero and XWhere did I say he wasn't the bad guy? I said "lesser evil". That's still evil. It's... evil with a purpose. As opposed to boring, "YAY DESTROY EVERYTHING THAT LIVES FOR NO REASON" evil. Seph dies at the end of FFVII. -------------------

First off, when is being evil have a limit? When is it too much? Oh and no he didnt, he came back int eh Final Fantasy 7:Advent Children movie. And after Dirge of Cerberus, teh FF7 spin off, they showed that they hinted to another FF7 game, and Iam preety sure Sephy is comming back for round 3 with Cloud.

I think it's fairly obvious that Chimaira is being purposefully immature and there's little point in arguing with him as it will only lead to meaningless arguments.
In any case, I'm not much interested in verses threads either, for the exact reasons listed above. For example, Chimaira has admitted to being a fan boy, but calls those being objective one too. This is why he fails, as he has no basis for anything he says, just an opinion, completely powerless to do anything and equal on the matter to that of anyone else's, since that's all this kind of thread can offer in the end, opinions, nothing solid. The only way you could get a final answer on one of these is a global popularity census, which Sephiroth would undoubtedly win, but we'd all lose to the latest pop music trend, so what? Oh and yes, Sephiroth does something similar to returning from death in Advent Children, so he was not permanently defeated in FFVII and is still not gone for good for sure. -------------------

Thank you Fyrestorm, Chimaira is acting very childish and you have become a voice of reason.

I am not. I just love Devil May Cry and dislike Final Fantasy. Is that a crime?

Now there's a reasonable outlook, much better
As a point of interest, I think Vergil's name was supposed to be Virgil originally, much like Nelo Angelo was to be Nero Angelo. -------------------

Sorry i just get a bit carried away and then think my view is correct and everybody elses is irrelevant.
But getting back on topic, What makes you think Vergil's name was supposed to be Virgil? Plus Nelo Angelo sounds better than Nero Angelo, wasn't that about how they translated it wrong or something (thats what i read somewhere, can't really remember)

re: Vergil vs. Sephiroth |
quote FyrestormVirgil and Vergil are both accepted variation of the Roman poet's name. quote ChimairaIt was transliterated wrong. There's no distinct sound for R and L in Japanese, just a sound in-between. ネ オ ア ン ジェ ロ can be transliterated as Nero Angero, Nelo Angelo, Nero Angelo and Nelo Angero. Technically, though, it *should* be Nero Angelo. -------------------

re: Vergil vs. Sephiroth |

Sephiroth did die at the end of FF VII, but was resurrected when the powers of Mother combined with those Kadaj.
IMO, Vergil seemed to be much faster than Sephiroth, turning completely invisible when attacking, he also has an attack so fast that it bends space, creating an orb of destruction. He is also a half-demon, Sephiroth is a super-engineered... thing. -------------------

re: Vergil vs. Sephiroth |

This is probably the wrong place to be asking, but everyone says Sephiroth died at the end of FFVII. If so, then what was the red energy created at the time of his death? The red energy went into Cloud, along with the Lifestream energy, but the Lifestream came out and the red energy stayed in him.
