I walked outside on a nice hot summer day.
Lyla was at my door and gave me a flower "Today's the beach festival," she said. "I'll see you there" I hurry to check on my animals and water my crops. Once all my business is done, I walk casually to the beach festival. I enter the contest, but I forgot that I didn't know how to swim! I lost horribly and embarrassed myself in front of Lyla! After the festival Lyla told me that I was brave for entering the contest, gave me a kiss, and said good night. What a beautiful summer day! -------------------

Chapter One "HEY!" I screamed at the top of my lungs strange girl, but she didn't budge an inch. "HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? GET DOWN! HEEEEEEY!" I yelled. "WHAT?!" She shrieked. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? GET DOWN OFF THAT ROOF!" "WHAT DO YOU CARE?!" She yelled. Who was this chick? And why the hell was she laying on the roof of that stupid old house? "FINE! I DON'T. STAY UP THERE!" I hollered. "NO NO. I"M COMING DOWN NOW. CATCH!" And with that she threw a lime green iPod over the edge. I caught it. The music was still playing so loud I could hear it clearly without the headphones even near my head. I was kinda relieved, for a second I thought she was gonna jump. Then the hot pink converse disappeared over the edge of the roof. Then all of a sudden, she fuucking jumped. She really jumped, dear god. I have to witness this suicide? She landed on her feet on the small slat of roof on the second story, slid down and off that, and tumbled off onto the grass. I ran over, is she dead? Holy crep. Then, just as I get to her. She sucked in a big breath of the dusty village air and jumped to her feet, almost completely unaffected. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" I yelled. "Sheez, I'm down now, stop yelling," she said, running her hand through her thick brown hair. She grabbed her iPod out of my hand. "Oh, this is a great song," she squeaked. Then she put the earplug in my ear, and my head almost exploded. It was nothing I recognized, well, I probably couldn't recognize it even if I knew the song from the blood pounding in my ears. I pulled it out, and checked to see if my ears were bleeding. "What's your name?!" I asked, and the words came out a little more snappy than what I would've liked. Whoever this girl was, I was almost certain I didn't want to get on her bad side. She's scary enough as is. She laughed this really dorky, but cute, laugh as she switched off her iPod. "Ah ha ha. My name? Why should I tell you?" I couldn't come up with a response. "My name is Loopy Gurdlechunks," She said. "Please tell me you're kidding." "Urgh. Don't be so emo about it," her mouth screwed up into a half smile, "My name is Amelia. But never, ever call me that. I'm Amy. Not Amelia, okay?" "Sure. I'm Blue," I said, sticking out my hand. "Oh, no wonder you're so emo," she giggled, completely ignoring my trying to be friendly with a handshake. Apparently, she thinks hugs are a better greeting. I was taken off guard, because the last time I got this close with a girl was, pathetically enough, back in high school. Pretty stupid that I'm 19, and I've never been kissed. But whatever. "Why were you up on the roof?"I asked. "It's my roof, I can do what I want to with it." She said. And that was when I noticed the old red 1960 Ford Fairlane in the the decayed (or is it rusting?) shed, and the big ol' moving truck strolin' along down the highway. I looked back toward Amy, then across the street at my house. SHe raised an eyebrow and smiled in an inviting funny way that I've seen our town's sarcastic little middle schoolers wear. "Oh God." I threw my head back as it al sunk in, and looked up at the sky, hoping to find the person who did this. She laughed the same dorky/cute way again. ------------------- No where we can run to is safe. Cloudy Days Chapter One As I was walking through the town I had just arrived in Flower Bud Village I went to find the mayor for the new farming job while I saw the cutest boy ever! He was wearing camo, had brown hair, and kinda a face that says "dont bother me" I was kinda embarrassed so I was blushing a bit when I went over and said, "Hey my names Jessica, but you can call me Jess if you want..." the cute boy says, "yeah whatever im Kurt" I said, "well nice to meet you... well bye, I gotta go meet the mayor to get my new farm, bye!" As I was walking to the mayors house I strolled pass a young girl with blue jeans, a shirt with dirt on it like she came over an explosion, and had blonde hair tied in a ponytail. I went over and said, "Hey im Jessica but you can call me Jess" the young girl said, "my names Ann, oh I guess your looking at my shirt? oh I was working on an invention in my fathers shop and it exploded when I tried getting it to work" I said "well I gotta go over and meet the mayor so I can get my farm" Ann said "so your the new farm girl I was hearing about?" I said "yes, yes I am, well bye!" I finally set foot upon a big house that looked fancy, with the mayor standing in front of it so I go up and say "Hey I am..." I was cut off by the mayor saying "Jessica, yes I know, and your the new farm girl, and no I dont read minds!" I was just standing there shocked that he knew what I was gonna say... "so what are the plots I can choose from?" I asked, the mayor said "Ocean side plot that has big space but terrible soil, Riverside plot that has great soil but small space, and some other plot that can only hold plants." I say "I'll have the Ocean side plot" he said "ok I'll show you where you live" Once we got there he said "You better get to bed it's late" I went in side when I said bye and unpacked, I got into bed but was lying there with my eyes closed but couldn't fall asleep so I took my sleepy time soda and drank it, then I instantly fell asleep. ------------------- No one ever trusts me... We interred the house, and the awkward silence set in at once. Ellen and Amy talked happily about all sorts of things. Girls talk about the most random things. and Hank and I sat silently, Hank looking at me with a weird expression that made me want to punch him. You know, the one with a raised eyebrow and a snarky smile that just screams something inappropriate. After we finished eating Ellen, aided by Amy, cleaned the dishes and put them away. Then Ellen, Hank, and I all got in her face about how she's the guest and she's not supposed to do that. But Ellen had really appreciated her help and company. Amy is just starting up, so her work for the day was done. So her and Ellen hung out and did chores and I went back to work. I couldn't help but look over at her every now and then... She's so... distracting. I mean, she's loud. Then Ellen and her came over as I was about to start on the fields. Amy was trailing behind Ellen several strides. "Blue, I've got to go out to get some stuff for dinner," Ellen said happily. "Okay, you normally do... Why did you feel the need today to tell me about it?" "Well, the thing is... Amy doesn't really want to go with me..." I almost jumped out of my seat. I tried to look uncaring. "But she doesn't want to go home, either. She could help you with finishing up your chores. She's really good with the animals," Ellen and her smiled at each other like there was an inside joke I didn't get, "and she's quick." "Does she want to?" I asked. "Why would I be asking if she didn't? Seriously, Blue." "Sure, whatever." oooh I'm Mr. Cool. Not caring. blah. I only have one more thing to do anyway. "Okay, Thanks. Bye Amy." Ellen said and she waved spastically and ran off toward the house. Amy stood there, looking at me expectantly. Silent. Smiling. "Stay," I commanded, worried I might run her over with the tractor if she didn't stay where I knew she was. "Yes sir," she saluted. I laughed a little then went into the shed. I pulled up the big door and started up the tractor. I pulled it out. She looked like an amazed kindergardener. "Come on," I said smiling at her expression. She hopped up but couldn't seem to get in the seat, I held out my hand. She took it and pulled herself up. For some stupid reason, I felt like I was helping Cinderella into her carriage. "Thanks," she said as she flopped down on the seat. She grabbed my hat and put it on. She laughed. I smiled. Apparently she doesn't know that my hat is my identity. So we took the tractor around, and the whole time she was humming and softly singing "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy." I was a visible shade of pink by the time she was getting louder. She laughed when she was finished. And her laugh is contagious. "So do you think MY tractor is sexy?" I joked. I regretted it immediately. "Definitely," she smiled wide, showing her teeth. Okay, regret is gone now. The purple haze was starting to set in, the first stars started popping up. "Starlight, star bright, the first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight." She whispered. We still were only half way done, and I know I was getting hungry. "You didn't happen to wish for some food, did you? Cause I'm starving," I said. She laughed. "Something like that..." She got real quiet all of a sudden. She looked out at the sky, at the purple mountains against the pale blue sky. "It's pretty amazing, isn't it?" I said, noticing it too. "Yeah..." She breathed. Amy leaned back against me. She rested her head on my shoulder. I blushed hard again. Her eyes were closed though. She yawned, and sat back up. She smiled. "I'm kinda hungry too," she confessed quietly. "Do you want to grab a bite after we're done?" "I don't want to overstay my welcome..." "It's okay, I'm hungry, too," ------------------- No where we can run to is safe. We have to fly there.

Time to spice up this thread. Continuing from my last post in the previous thread...
Before I opened my eyes, I could already hear the rain pounding on my window. I groaned, and felt like crawling back under my covers. But I knew that I couldn't do so, and needed to take care of my crops—the cocoa would be ready for harvesting, I hoped—and my calf. I remembered that I had shipped a bunch of crops the day before, so I thought of how much money I was getting. I could try and ask the people at the Woodshop if they worked on rainy days, as I wanted a chicken coop, but then realized I needed to save up for a larger house. Groaning again, I rolled out of my bed, and yawned. I slowly undressed myself, and found a red flannel shirt, and put it over a black tank top. I decided to wear the same shorts as I had the previous day, as well as some yellow rain boots. For breakfast, I made myself a boiled egg and a milkshake. I gave Pinky and Knox both the last of the sashimi I had in my fridge. I reminded myself to do some fishing later. I put my watering can in my tool box as I wouldn't need it, and took out my brush. I left my little house, and headed for my crop area. As predicted, my cocoa crops where ready to be harvested, so I happily collected them and put them in my backpack. I checked my other crops and figured the tomatoes and onions would be ready for tomorrow. I jogged to Ocean Side to visit my barn and take care of Moo. When I got there, I shipped my cocoas and fed Moo her fodder, and brushed her. “I hope you'll grow up soon,” I said to her in a soothing voice. “You're a good little cow, you know?” Moo made a motion with her head, as if she was nodding. When I was done brushing her, I gave her a pat on the head, and left for my tiny house. I could put off visiting the Woodshop until tomorrow, I thought. I put away my tools and took out my hammer. I took out a few hard-boiled eggs from the fridge, and headed outside into the rain for the caves. I passed the clinic on the way, and through the window I could see Alex looking for something in his desk, while Gina was sweeping the floor. At the mine, I saw Ann, Kurt and Bob standing around. I gave them all a quick wave before heading down the stairs to the second level of the mine. I hammered around until I found a golden ore, which I happily stuffed into my backpack. I kept going until I reached the twentieth level of the mines, and was out of food to keep my energy up so I wouldn't collapse or something. I trudged up the stairs, tired and sweaty, and eventually made it up to the main level of the caves where the cave's regulars usually hung out. This time, I saw Kurt, Alex and Bob standing around. I gave them a wave, and headed back out into the rain. The cold water felt good as it trickled down my cheeks, refreshing me, and washing away all the sweat. I decided to take the chance to appreciate the rain, so I walked home slowly. I passed Jamie's ranch and saw him standing in the middle of his pasture, looking at nothing. He looked up when I passed him, though, and waved to me. “Enjoying the lovely weather?” he asked. “Yep,” I answered. “The caves are better when it's raining, aren't they?” “They're better at night when you have them all to yourself,” Jamie disagreed. “At least it keeps me busy, since I don't sleep.” “So that's how you earn your money,” I mused. “Playing in the caves at night. That's rude, you know, trying to make me feel bad about my farm. Just because I don't have all that energy doesn't mean you have to, like, outshine me in everything!” “Harlow, we're farming rivals, remember?” Jamie said. “Yes, but that doesn't mean—” “Oh, so I'm supposed to just let you win?” he asked. “Because we're rivals, I have to let the other person win at everything? I hate losing, you know. I'm a very competitive guy. I've always been. I hate to lose at anything, so therefore—” “Jamie!” I exclaimed, interrupting him. “You said you'd help me through this, so I can collect the musical notes and save the Goddess! Couldn't you just let me win by a little bit? That'll earn me, like, points, right? If I work hard, then I could—” “Exactly!” Jamie said, throwing his hands up in the air in exasperation. “You have to work hard. You have to earn your success! You can't just rely on people to do everything for you. You. Have. To. Work. Hard. And. Earn. It.” “I never said I was relying on you for anything!” I shot back. “I just pointed out that you said you were going to help me! Jeez!” Jamie sighed, blowing his wet bangs up in the air. “Well, helping you doesn't mean I'm just automatically going to let you win against me. You have to earn it, Harlow. I can tell you're trying your best right now, since you've built your barn and all. I know that one day you're going to beat me, so just keep trying.” “All right, then,” I said. “You're awfully stubborn. But if you really are going to help me, then thanks in advance. I should get going. I have to talk to Alex and ask why he's being such a moron.” “Good idea,” Jamie agreed. “You go do that.” “I will do that,” I told him. “See you later.” “Bye.” I walked away from the fence and headed towards home. I was starting to feel a little bit nervous about approaching Alex, as I was afraid of him being in a bad mood again. I was also a bit nervous about us possibly breaking up. It was my first serious relationship, after all, and I didn't want it to end so suddenly, especially over something as stupid as the double-date (and Jamie coming along on it) issue. When I reached my property, I quickly shipped all of the ores I had dug up, and headed into my house to clean myself up before visiting Alex. I changed out of my wet clothes, and put on some clean jeans, a plain white t-shirt, and dry socks. I struggled with combing my tangled hair, but after five minutes of grunting, my hair was untangled and the comb had some knots of hair attached to it. After making myself a sandwich for a late lunch, I found myself a yellow rain coat and a matching hat to wear. I figured it belonged to the previous farmer, that Jamie had mentioned was female, so I hoped the rain coat would fit me. It did, miraculously, so I headed out into the rain once again. The rain outside showed no sign whatsoever if slowing down, so I quickly headed next door to the clinic. I opened the door, and found Martha standing in the middle of the front room again, humming to herself. Alex was at his desk, looking for something, and Gina wasn't there; I figured she was at the Sanatorium. “Hi,” I said loudly, trying to get Alex's attention. He turned around and waved at me, smiling. “Hey, Harlow,” he said. “Glad that you could come by. It's good that you've got a rain jacket. You could catch a cold in this weather, you know.” “It's humid out,” I told him. “I doubt I'll catch a cold. Um, can we talk? Alone?” “Sure, sure... Martha? How about starting that stew for dinner? Those take a while to cook, right?” Alex looked over at Martha, who nodded and rushed off into the kitchen area far off somewhere. I looked at the floor, not really knowing how to start my lecture—if that's what you'd call it—with Alex. “Okay, well, I'm just going to come right out and say it. You're really being quite the jackass lately.” Alex had already stood up, but he was looking at me strangely. He blinked. Since he didn't look like he was going to say anything, I decided it was still up to me to continue. “Ever since the double-date incident, you've been acting like a complete idiot. When Jamie randomly invited himself to it, you were all pissed off, even more than you were in the first place. I realize that you like going out alone with me, but really, everyone double-dates at some point.” “Yes, but isn't that just for high-school relationships?” Alex asked. “We're adults now, right? Besides, isn't this, like, your first serious relationship with anyone?” “Yeah,” I answered. “But it's only been, what, a month since we've been officially dating. We still have time before we get beyond the... after-sex-stage. We've had sex once before, but like... I don't know. It's only been a month, we don't have to be so serious about everything, do we?” Alex looked at the floor again, then sighed. “I guess not. I just... I just don't like Jamie.” “Why not?” I asked. “You told me that he's a vampire. I've been studying them and well, aren't they kind of... dangerous?” Alex raised an eyebrow. “Jamie's not dangerous!” I exclaimed, feeling the need to defend him. “He's only dangerous when he has a bloodthirst attack. You know, when he sees blood he gets a bit excited. All vampires would, you know.” “Suppose you end up tripping somewhere, bleeding, and Jamie finds you,” Alex said. “What will happen to you? I can't let him suck out as much blood as he can until you're left there to die of blood loss.” “He'd save me,” I said simply, crossing my arms. “Remember when I told you that I sprained my arm by tripping over some rocks? Well, I lied about that, as a matter of fact. I had to find him that night, so I somehow made my way into a cave and was attacked by a bear. Jamie found me shortly after that, and he handled it very well. He killed the bear, though. He fixed me up quickly, and I was fine after that.” “That was just one event, though,” Alex pointed out. “Remember at the horse festival? That one little scrape you got. He attacked you and could have killed you.” “Alex, Jamie's learned his lesson!” I insisted. “And how do you know that?” I glared at Alex. “I just do, okay? Jamie's been nice to me since after the first incident, and it wasn't really his fault.” “Just be careful, okay, Harlow?” Alex said. “if he ever attacks you again, I will personally murder him!” “Alex, can you do me a favor?” “Sure.” “Shut up! Just shut up already, okay?” I exploded. “You're always following me around, warning me to be careful about everything, warning me to watch where I'm going! It's getting on my nerves, you know. Also, like I said yesterday, your warnings clearly aren't helping me, because I always end up in some deadly situation, like the bear incident, and getting attacked by a vampire! Just give it a rest, okay?” “You don't have to get so angry about it!” Alex snapped back. “I'm a doctor! You're my girlfriend, and I don't want you to get hurt! I'm just trying to—” “Do I have to keep repeating myself?!” I yelled. “Your warnings are not helping me! You're my boyfriend, not my father! You don't have to follow my every move and get all suspicious when I'm around Jamie—Or any other people, for that matter!” “Okay!” Alex said, raising his voice as well. “I'm sorry!” “You don't sound like you're sorry,” I said, frowning and crossing my arms. Alex closed his eyes and shook his head in disbelief. “You're being selfish, you know.” “Me?” My eyes widened. “Me. I'm being selfish? How the hell am I being selfish? I think you're the one being selfish, Alex. You've been acting like a complete jackass lately, and you have serious issues accepting other people! Just loosen up a bit and let me do what I want! If I decide to hang out with Bob, for example, do you think he'd do anything stupid to me? Huh?” Alex sighed. “No...” “Then neither would any other guys!” I said. “Jesus Christ, Alex. Since you don't seem like you're going to make any apologies and explain yourself, I'm done with you for now. I'll see you later, or whenever you decide to explain yourself in a way that makes sense to me. You have to stop making excuses for everything, you know.” I turned around and started heading for the door. I figured Alex was going to be his usual coward self and say nothing, so I didn't even say goodbye. I opened the door, stepped out into the rain, and slammed the door on the way out, fuming with anger. After I took about three steps, the door opened again. “Harlow?” Alex called out into the rain. “What?” I spun around, annoyed. “Does this mean we're... over?” The expression on his face almost made me want to run up to him and give him a huge hug, but I tried to restrain myself. “That's for you to decide,” I said coldly. “Harlow, I don't want to—” “Remember what I said, Alex? Shut up!” I stormed off towards the library, needing to talk to someone about this, anyone. I decided that Maria was a good candidate for girl talk. Even so, I would be sure to ask Eve as well, when I would visit the bar later that might. When I reached the small building, I stepped inside and took off my rain coat and hat. Maria was sitting at her desk and looked up at me. “Harlow, hi!” she greeted. Then she saw the expression on my face: Pissed. “Hi,” I answered. I found myself a chair and sat down in it, and buried my face in my hands. “I think I just killed my relationship with Alex.” “How did you do that?” Maria asked with wide brown eyes. “I approached him with confidence about the way he's been acting lately,” I explained. “To sum it up, he's being a complete jealous, over-protective jackass.” “Oh, my. Did you two break up?” “I honestly have no idea. He asked me, and I told him it's up to him to decide. I don't want to be heartbroken, I want to be a heartbreaker, if you know what I mean. I'm afraid of someone breaking up with me, after many failed relationships. This was my first serious relationship, after all. It means something to me.” Maria nodded. “Even though you might be afraid of it, I have to say, you're a strong, independent woman, you know? I would never have the guts to approach my boyfriend about the way he's been acting. He'll probably get mad at me.” “I bet Alex is mad at me,” I groaned. “He seemed upset, actually. In the sad way, I mean. I feel kind of bad. But I can't let him control my life forever, or however long we're going to be together. I doubt the relationship will last long, though, at this point.” “What do you mean, controlling your life?” “He's being way too over-protective. It's getting on my nerves, and he gets all jealous if I'm hanging out with other men. It's annoying, and he's just being a jackass in general. I can't take it!” I banged my fists on the desk in rage. Maria shook her head in sympathy. “Did he even apologize?” “He told me sorry, but he definitely didn't sound sorry,” I said. “I'm sorry if I sound like a ranting bitch right now, but I need to tell someone about it, you know?” “I know how you feel,” Maria agreed. “I'd do that, too. But you're very bold, you know? You have my respect.” “Thanks,” I said. I stood up, and nodded at Maria. “Thanks for listening. I should get going now, I guess. I'll see you later.” “Bye!” I left the library, and the rain was starting to fall harder. It was when I was heading to the mountains, I realized I had left my rain jacket and hat back at the library. “Oh, damn it!” I said to myself, smacking my palm against my face in dismay. “Oh, well. I'll pick it up tomorrow.” “Harlow!” I heard someone yell. I turned around to see Jamie waving at me from his front door. “Come over here! Don't hang out in the rain and get sick!” “Fine!” I yelled back. I ran towards Jamie's house, almost tripping along the way, as the path was slippery. I shook my wet hair out of my face and looked up at Jamie, who smiled in amusement. “Come in,” he said. “You have to dry off before you make yourself get sick.” Nodding, as I had no choice but to go in, I went inside. The inside looked the same as it had the last time I was there, dark and depressing. The curtains were pure black to block out every source of light, and the only lights on the main floor were glowing candles and a lamp by the kitchen. “I don't really like the light,” Jamie explained. “Come on upstairs, I have a bathroom. You should take a bath.” “Okay,” I agreed, knowing I was not to make a fuss in front of Jamie, there was no use arguing with him. I followed him up the wooden stairs that didn't creak, and was led to a door a few feet from his bed. His dog looked up at me from the bed, and jumped off to sniff my feet. “Callie, no!” Jamie snapped. The dog immediately headed back to the bed, whimpering. Jamie showed me in the bathroom where everything was, and I thanked him. I shut the door and stripped out of my wet clothes. “If you want, I can dry your clothes for you downstairs,” Jamie offered from the other side of the door. “I have a dryer.” “That would be great, thanks.” I opened the door a crack and handed Jamie my wet outfit. I heard his footsteps going down the stairs, so I locked the door and managed to turn the shower on. I stepped into the bathtub and closed the sliding doors that were there instead of curtains. I reached for my backpack and found a razor, since I had to shave my legs and underarms for hygiene. I set the razor on the edge of the bathtub and stood there for a few minutes, letting the hot water run down my naked body. I reached for the shampoo, opened the cap, and sniffed it. It smelled like something nice, but I couldn't identify the scent. I decided to wash my hair with it, anyways. After working on washing out all of the dirt and oil from my hair, I worked on my body, as well as shaving my legs and underarms. When I was done with that, I rinsed all over, and turned the water off. I stepped out onto the fuzzy white rug and reached for a towel that was hanging on the door. I wrapped it around myself when I was done with it, and reached for a comb that was sitting beside the sink. There were a few purple hairs on it, but knowing that Jamie would never have lice, I combed through my tangled hair, and rubbed my hair with the towel. Eventually, I stepped out of the bathroom, my towel around me again, and Jamie was sitting in an armchair, holding my newly-dried clothes in his hands. “Hi,” I said. “Your clothes are dry,” Jamie told me unnecessarily, walking towards me. “Thanks,” I said. “You didn't have to, you know.” “I know, but I did.” Jamie grinned again, his stunning grin with the overbite. Nodding, I headed back into the bathroom to change into my dried clothes and bra. When I was done, I hung the towel up on the door again and stepped out. Jamie smiled again. I didn't really know what to do next, so I sat myself on the bed. “Did you talk to Alex about your issues, yet?” Jamie asked, breaking the brief silence. I sighed, and nodded. “Yes. I think he's mad at me now. We kind of got in to this big argument, and now I feel kind of bad.” “Did you two... break up?” I could hear the slightest of hope in Jamie's voice. I glared at him. “Why do you sound so hopeful?” “I'm not hopeful,” Jamie defended himself. “I'm curious.” “We didn't break up,” I said, going back on topic. “He asked me if we were, but I told him that it was up to him to decide... Oh, man. I feel really bad now. He looked so unhappy when I was yelling at him. I feel like a moron now.” “Don't feel bad,” Jamie soothed me. He stood up and sat beside me on the bed. I buried my face in my hands, and, in spite of myself, started whimpering. “You did what you had to do, Harlow. Don't feel—Hey, hey, don't cry!” “I'm such a bitch!” I sobbed. “He hates me right now. I know he does... I love him so much... Jesus Christ, why did I have to yell at him?!” “You're not a bitch!” Jamie said. “Harlow, stop it! You were just standing up for yourself. Do what you have to. If you don't like him, then leave him.” “I do like him!” I whined. “I love him. But he's such a God-damned jackass! He's too over-protective, and he watches my every move like a h-hawk! Ugh! Just kill me.” “I won't do that,” Jamie said. He put a cold arm around my shoulders, and I suddenly stopped crying. The sudden touch was ice-cold, yet soothing. “Just... calm down, okay? Please? You're scaring me.” I took a few deep breaths, and after a few seconds I calmed down. “I'm calm,” I muttered. I sighed and shook my head. “I bet he hates me right now. I have to go apologize.” “Harlow, there's no reason for you to apologize. Alex was the one being selfish in the first place, right?” “I guess so,” I said sadly. “But I was the one who yelled at him in the first place. I approached him with confidence and explained everything, but now I feel stupid.” “Being a doctor, Alex will probably think it's just PMS,” Jamie said. I sighed again. “I guess so.” We sat there in silence for several minutes. I was fully calm by them, and Jamie was just sitting there, hugging me. I could hear the rain pounding on a window, and the glossy black piano stood silently in the corner. I closed my eyes before realizing what was actually going on. I jumped off from the bed. “What the hell are you doing?” I exploded. “Hugging me? I'm in a relationship, you know! I don't believe in showing affection for other men while in a relationship, a healthy one or not!” Jamie looked taken aback. “I-I'm sorry,” he stuttered. “I just... I was just trying to help you calm down... Be a friend, you know... I just didn't know whether to let go so soon or not.” I shook my head. “Jeez, Jamie.” I couldn't think of anything else to add to that, so I sat down on the edge of the bed again. Jamie said nothing, and sat there with me in complete silence. He was looking at the floor, and I was looking at the glossy piano in the corner. I sighed, wishing I knew how to play even one song. “You want me to play a song for you?” Jamie offered, noticing my wistful gaze at the instrument. “If you'd like to,” I answered. “I'm asking you,” Jamie said. “Do you want me to play you something, or not? Or do you want to play it?” “I can't play any instruments,” I admitted. “Except a little bit of guitar, I guess. Anyways, just play me something.” “Any requests?” Jamie walked towards the piano, sat himself at the bench. He rolled up his sleeves and I gazed at his pale skin, his bulging muscles. Normally, he looked physically weak, but maybe that was just the poncho covering the muscles up. “Just play me something classical,” I insisted. I moved towards the black leather sofa a few feet from the piano, and lounged lazily on it. I closed my eyes, ready. Jamie ran his fingers up and down the keyboard, then started playing something very unfamiliar. The rhythm played over and over for a few seconds, then changed. It was a fast song, only about two or three minutes. Jamie finished the song, and I opened my eyes to see him staring at me. “Anything else?” he asked. “Nah,” I replied. “Just play whatever you feel like. But don't make me fall asleep, because I still have people I need to talk to.” Nodding, he started up another tune that again, I didn't recognize. After a few seconds, I realized it was a piano interpretation of a Linkin Park song. I tapped my fingers against the leather, trying to keep up with Jamie's fast pace. When he was done, I yawned and stood up. “Thanks for that, Jamie. Really. You have to teach me how to play piano sometime, you know?” “Whenever you're ready,” he agreed. He nodded at something I didn't see, so I decided to head down the wooden stairs. I realized I was going to get wet again, as the rain was still pounding the windows, so I turned my head to ask Jamie one last thing, when he was right behind me. “Keep going,” he said impatiently. “I don't want to push you down the stairs.” I continued walking down the wooden steps, and walked towards the front door. Jamie followed. “Can I borrow a rain jacket?” I asked before placing my hand on the doorknob. “I don't know, can you?” Jamie asked back, grinning. He reached for the black rain jacket hanging on a peg on the wall, and also handed me an umbrella. “I want these back by tomorrow. Not that I really need them, but they're still mine.” “Sure,” I said, nodding. Jamie helped me into the jacket, and I zipped myself up. “Thanks again,” I said. “Um, for the clothes-drying, the sympathy—if you'd call it that, and the music. I had... fun.” “So did I,” said Jamie. I looked up into his eyes, and could sense the emotion of happiness, like he meant what he said. His expression then changed, it looked like he wanted something. “What?” I asked teasingly. “Can you smell the jam in my backpack that I meant to give you yesterday?” “Oh, um, yeah!” Jamie suddenly nodded. “I love that stuff. May I have it?” “Yes, you may.” I took my backpack off, and fished out the jar of Very Berry jam. I handed it to Jamie, who took the lid off and sniffed what was inside. “Ah,” he breathed. “It smells nice. Thanks, Harlow.” “You're welcome,” I replied. I turned around, and headed off into the pouring rain. “Bye,” I called over my shoulder. I could see Jamie waving back. * * * Yes, I did want that jam, too. But not as much as I wanted you to stay, just for a few more minutes. I didn't know where you were heading next, but you suddenly seemed in such a hurry. I didn't like how you wanted to get out of my house so suddenly. I liked how you decided to lounge on my sofa, though. It looked sexy, the way your feet dangled off the edge, how you closed your eyes and decided to appreciate the music. The first song, I played that by ear. I heard it off of some cartoon I was watching once, so I decided to play it for you. I liked that song, too. I also liked how you leaned against my shoulder when I pulled you against me when you were upset. I liked how I was like... Like your wall, I should say. You leaned against me when you were weak. I... I loved that. And the way you suddenly jumped up and screamed at me. That was random. Very random. But I found it amusing. I knew that if I laughed in front of you, you'd leave my place right then and there, and I wouldn't really like that. Not one bit. I should invite you more often, huh? You seem to like my house, though you think it's creepy, how I don't really like the light. Oh, yeah, not only did I want you to stay for just a few more minutes, I wanted to kiss you. I considered kissing your forehead while I was hugging you, but decided against it. You know, I have to sacrifice a lot of my cravings. When I rescued you from that bear incident, I almost died from bloodthirst. Yep, one word. It sounds cooler that way, you know? Bloodthirst. In which a vampire has a thirst for blood. But I managed to hold myself back, control myself. I managed not to kill you, because the bear was right there, too. Besides, it weighed a ton, so there would be more blood for me to devour. I was happy after the bear was dead, so I decided to take you home with me and fix you up. Oh, I'm sorry about leaving you there in pain for about ten minutes while I was killing the bear. I should've just picked you up and ran, but I was just so thirsty. I had to kill that thing, I had to suck out its blood. Thank Goddess for Eve, alerting me about the incident. If I found out you'd died from a bear attack, I'd have to try and find a way to kill myself, because, well... I can't live without you in my world now. And why is that, you're wondering? It's because I'm in love with you. Oh, yes, yes I am. * * * I didn't really know where to go next, exactly, but my watch read that it was a few minutes after six, so the bar would be open. I ran over next door, and let myself in. Blue, Nami, Woody and Ray were at the counter, leaving about five or six extra seats. I sat myself at a stool, and waved at Carl. Eve was wiping the counter, and Duke was counting money in the cashier. “Hi,” I said loudly, trying to capture Duke's attention. “Oh, hi,” he replied. “What would you like tonight? All our drinks are on the house tonight. Free. Hope this'll bring in more customers, ya know?” I nodded. “I'll have an apple soda, extra ice.” “Eve, apple soda with extra ice,” Duke called over his shoulder. Eve nodded, and hurried to a row of barrels, with words painted on the front, like “apple,” “grape,” and “Very Berry.” Eve fixed up my order, and leaned against the counter towards me. “How are things with Alex?” she asked. I realized she could have easily “seen” my conversations with Jamie and Maria, so she would know about it. “Not very good,” I said. “Did you 'see' my conversation with him?” She shook her head no. “No. I was at Sunny Lake, standing there in the rain like a loser. I didn't feel like concentrating on anything important. Anyways, what happened?” “I yelled at him, and I bet he's all upset at me,” I moaned. I took a sip of my drink, as if it would somehow soothe me. In a way, it did. “Let me see,” Eve murmured. She lowered her eyebrows, concentrating. She looked around the bar a few times, then nodded to herself. “He sitting at his desk,” she said quietly. “His face is buried in his arms. He's upset. In the sad way.” I nodded. Eve put a finger to her lips, stopping me from replying. “He's all alone. Martha's at the Sanatorium. He's... Alex is... crying!” I raised my eyebrows. “He feels really bad about himself,” Eve continued. “He's saying 'Oh, Jesus Christ. Ugh! God damn it! I'm such a God-damned moron!' Or something like that. His voice is all muffled.” I nodded again, then put my chin in my hands. “'I need to apologize,' he's saying. 'Harlow probably hates me. Why? Ugh!'” Eve looked at me again, and blinked. “That's all,” she informed me. “Unless you want me to see anything else for you?” “No thanks,” I replied. “People are staring.” Cursing under her breath, Eve looked at everyone else with narrowed eyes. They all resumed to whatever they had previously been doing. Nami looked at us, and smiled, like she understood. Eve nodded, and Nami returned to her salad. “Anyways, what do you think you're going to do about it?” Eve asked, looking at me again. “You can't just let him be an ass to you for the duration of your relationship.” “He needs to apologize and mean it,” I said angrily. “He didn't do that earlier. If he doesn't, I'll... I'll break up with him!” “No,” Eve disagreed. She shook her blonde head. “I'll give him three days.” “Hmm?” “If he doesn't apologize to you in at least three days,” Eve said quietly, “I'm going to murder him.” ------------------- ![]()

Ummmmmm....... I'll try.....
I sighed and walked down the dusty path. In the distance,I could see a small town. Too small. But I WAS hungry so I walked on. It took me an hour to get there, and it was hot this spring. I walked past a wooden sign that read:FLOWER BUD. I went straight to the bar where I ordered two glasses of apple soda. "Where are you from?"the waitress asked. "Texas," I replied."Oh,wow! You walked far!" she said. "actually,I drove but my car broke down halfway here,"I replied. "Oh, i'm Lucy Daniels,"I added quickly. "I'm Eve,"she said, "You can buy a house over there," she said, pointing down a path. I thanked her and left after paying. I went to the house and a man was there he said I could have the house so I went in. It was small with a bed, fridge, stove, and dresser so I unpacked and quicly fell asleep. Then I had a strange dream. That was my suckish attempt!I'll write soon!
