Jann Lee is the best! |
|
Why?
He is fierce,good-looking and skillful character. He is fast and young.I think that is all what a real male character needs in any fighting game.I'll better indentify myself as a chinese cool jeet kun do user, not as half-naked teen girl with huge bouncing breasts...Oh yeah it is SOOOO much fun to kick such girls' and ninjas' asses with Jann Lee. His moves are amazing.Lee is one of the best to use combos when throwing your opponent in air and kicking hem/her there ,due to his fast moves that make opponent bounce of th floor and his poweful punch Y-COMBOS in air.Jann lee's advanced level throwes are very spectacular, especially wall ones.Majority of his counters, especially against mid-kick and jump kick/punch are very effective And dont say that he is easy predictable, there is no such thing as easy predictable characters, only easy predictable players. Yeaaah. I dun like him too much. He is an annoying person to beat but quite easy to counter because his finishers (the ones that usually send people flying) are predictable *thumbs up*. I prefer the female characters, ch'yeah.

quote Voodoo rusSounds like someone has rage against ninjas. Yeah, Jann is the man, no doubt. There are some pretty nasty Jann Lee players out there too. Not going to get into the mechanics of Jann though, because I don't really know enough about him specifically to comment on them, but he does have some pretty sweet moves. ------------------- ![]() "Yeah The Haircuts Hot But This Has Gotta Stop Good Shoes Won't Save You This Time" - Lostprophets

quote Jim_Vengence Jann loses to all the ninjas except Hayate. Jann is not predictable but has predictable moves. Jann is repetetive and relies on pokes. Jann is not the fastest character in the game. Jann is not good. Thanks. ~Euravel -------------------

Hey Euravel you forgot one thing: This is all my opinion.
Jann Lee is underrated like many DoA characters because the ninjas/females are the focus. He is in no way a bad character, he's actually pretty quick and effective. Not Kasumi or Ayane quick, but quick nonetheless. His knockbacks are powerful and effective, though they do leave openings if he misses. Still, getting your opponent into a wall for extra damage is worth it. -------------------

Ladies and gentleman: Euravel, Mr. Cheerful himself has arrived!
As of right now, people seem to believe Jann Lee is a top tier character, where only Hayabusa, Ayane, and Genfu are better (Not my opinion, but this isn't what's being discussed). So, your argument of quote EuravelIsn't too far off, except he'd be above Kasumi as well. Still, he's apparently a top four character, which is still far from being the worst. Maybe he doesn't match up well against them, but again, you are more than welcome to look that information up for yourself. Secondly: quote Euravel... Yes, he isn't predictable, but he is. Got it. Most Jann Lee players that know how to play him correctly are very unpredictable. You don't need hundreds of mix ups, only a few effective ones. Granted, I don't play Jann Lee so I can't give you the inputs, but I know what they are, and when used properly, they're very dangerous. So I'd disagree with you on this point. quote EuravelTo a certain degree, most characters have some sort of poking game. Jann Lee happens to do it better than most, but has other aspects of his game that make him strong too. quote EuravelOh no, say it isn't so! You might want to look up some of the frame data if you're interested in pursuing that topic any further. I don't know frame rate data, so I'm not really able to give you an informed opinions here. I can tell you that he doesn't seem slow when I am fighting him though. No offense, Euravel, but your post seemed a lot like an aimless "I'm an angry Lei Fang fan cause Jann Lee beats her in the story all the time QQ" post than trying to be constructive or even the slightest bit insightful. If you don't like him, that's one thing. To say he's not a good character though is an argument that can be, and almost always will be, challenged. ------------------- ![]() "Yeah The Haircuts Hot But This Has Gotta Stop Good Shoes Won't Save You This Time" - Lostprophets

quote Jim_VengenceI'm not Euravel, I'm Anton. Jann is not the fastest, he's like the 7th fastest. Jann is extremely predictable. Jann relies on turtling. Anton could care less about the storyline. All I know is the Lei-Fang beat Hitomi. -------------------

You know...you do need to back-up your statements instead of just throwing some wild "facts" like that. You need to prove what you say. EVERY character is predictable in a sense. You just need to learn their moveset and bam, it's not so hard. To be unpredictable, you simply need to mix high, mid, and low attacks to keep your opponent guessing.
Jann Lee isn't much of 'turtler,' at least, not as much as Ein. -------------------

re: Jann Lee is the best! |
quote EuravelBut your name says Eurvael I'd love to see the information that makes him the 'seventh fastest character'. Even if he is (which I doubt), speed is only one of many elements that make a character good. You need to consider his crush ability, pressure game, etc. Jann is predictable... okay, well at least you picked a side to debate about this time. Maybe you haven't fought some very good Jann Lee's, because he has some nasty mix ups. None of us our Jann Lee players, so debating how predictable, or unpredictable, he is makes no sense. We could look at his mechanics in detail to get a better idea, But I don't really feel like doing that. I've seen some high level Jann Lee players in action, and they are very, very dangerous. The "Jann relies on turtling" argument makes no sense. That would be like me saying "Christie relies on offense to be effective" or "Lei Fang's counters are an awfully critical part of her game, and gee she sucks with out them". What you're realizing is that good Jann Lee players are defensive and wait for their opponent to mess up. That is how they should be played. Take any character and play them in a way they weren't intended to be used, and they will suck. quote EuravelAnton could care less about story line. Anton angry. Anton need to stop talking in third person. Anton nerd rage, oh my, run away! quote EuravelBad troll is bad. This is a Jann Lee thread. If you want to discuss Hitomi vs Lei Fang, make a thread for it and I will be more then willing to discuss it there ------------------- ![]() "Yeah The Haircuts Hot But This Has Gotta Stop Good Shoes Won't Save You This Time" - Lostprophets

Yes, Hitomi does win that fight...she has her prize in her ending.
But that's a different topic. -------------------

re: Jann Lee is the best! |
quote Power of SlashEh, it was just an example. The only good Christie player I've ever met was an aggressive player, thus I assumed she was an aggressive character. As far as I know, she's been given the tools to be a semi quick, aggressive character. In saying "Take any character and play them in a way they weren't intended to be used, and they will suck" I was probably wrong. I would have been more correct in saying that if you don't utilize the tools your character has been given effectively, you are going to have a much more difficult time winning. Correct me if I'm wrong though Edit: oh, do you have Xbox Live? I wouldn't mind seeing your Christie. ------------------- ![]() "Yeah The Haircuts Hot But This Has Gotta Stop Good Shoes Won't Save You This Time" - Lostprophets
