Aside from the fact that I hate the lack of checkpoints or ability to save the game mid-mission, I would like to try and get a bit further.

In Mission 4 you have to infiltrate the mission. I can get a radio and get them to turn them off ('Charm'), get INTO the mansion, holster my weapons and THEN I get 'spotted by the guards'. There's no explanation of why I'm spotted, etc. And since I have to restart the whole bloody level it's getting to be a real pain!!!

Any idea why I'm being spotted? What am I doing wrong? I'd like the game a whole lot more if it didn't just make me fail a mission for no good reason or if they at least had a decent checkpoint system.

Calm down.

Once you get to the door make sure you have your fists out. Then go right and navigate through the lasers, then you should be near some guards who shoudln't bother you, then go to the door with a guard either side and enter. Then you have a boss fight.

Haven't you seen the Save Current Location
option in the options menue (pause and go
left)? The checkpoint system is just fine.

You probably went through the left route
that has tons of security cameras, and got
spotted.

If you keep having trouble, get the strategy
guide.

You don't have to go through all of the lasers, you can go through three lasers and break the window.

Actually - I got past the cameras, and I got spotted when walking out into the open in the middle, walking up to the door, for no real reason. I wouldn't mind it so much if there was some proper explanation of what actually happened. I walked past a couple of guards (with my weapons holstered) and noone cared. But the next guard after didn't seem to like me - game over :-(

Oh - and I've noticed the 'Save Location' thing in Options. But I'll be damned if I know how you're meant to load an in-mission save from it. As far as I can tell it just seems to determine where your save game is located for in between missions.

having a guide means your a *bleep* unless its for say and rpg where you like to read detailed overwviews of different classes or whatnot.

Asking on a forum is different yes, if you can't see that then sorry.

That doesn't save the game. It selects where you want to save the game, as in on the hard drive or a memory card etc. The game saves automatically, you can't make it save.
