I got a chance to play this today, and while I was playing with an attitude of 'holy jesus this is gunna be good', it just wasnt really...
Did not impress me.
Sure, its good. But it lacks spark. The ragdoll is pretty terrible. Some parts of the environments dont look that good, unrealistic for some unknown reason. A chair reflects too much light? Theres something wrong with the way that road looks, kinda thing.
The guns..well thers one gun that has a single shot scope mode, automatic mode, and a grenade launcher.
What? Why use any other gun? Why would they put this in the game?
There really isnt anything impressive about the game at all in my opinion, though only from a limited play. It seems that it will sell on the basis of the name Perfect Dark, and the fact that it is a shooter on Xbox 360.

Is there something I'm missing? Anything that makes it really good? It was cutting edge back in the day! But now its just a shooting game that leaves me unimpressed.

The '64 game set so many benchmarks. The trilogy lives up to them...but doesnt create anymore. It just has all the old stuff, stuff thats now being used in every other game...

I just cant seem to get into this game either. I bought it a few months ago, went through a few areas and now it just collecting dusk.

It just feeling like there's element missing from the game..

well, the graphics are good, but not next gen good. I hate the friggin rag doll effect they have when you die. sometimes the camera jumps around, or the players don't fall right. it is hard to explain, but you know what I mean.

That's easy enough to explain: The ragdoll sucks. It's in so many games now, some have good ragdoll, some don't. This is in the latter catagory.

It's not a bad game but it's not that good either, and it's not perfect dark.

A) Why is joanna not british anymore?
B) There seemed to be no overarching plot it just seemed like it was "do that for some reason, oh, now go do that"
C)I would have preferred the original perfect dark with better graphics (blasphemy!)
D) Mythical power source which turns short chinese guy into super-god???? WHAT??

My friend shaun used to work for them and left before development began on this game, apparently more than half of the original team left, perhaps that explains some of the flaws.

I enjoyed the game at launch, but yeah that says it all really. There are far better FPS games you can get for the 360 now, but saying that I have seen PDZ EXTREMELY cheap in most places, we're talking in the regions of £4.99 or less, and IMO it is totally worth it for that price.

It's fun if you like constant action and shooting, which in this case... I do.

Yeah I just got a 360 and picked up PD0 as I saw it cheap and had never played the original. Not too in love with the single player but the xbox live multiplayer battles are good.
