Drug Trafficking Mission help here!

Hey, does anyone still have trouble with the level 8 of this mission, which is insanely hard? Because if so, I figured out a way to beat it pretty easily and if you guys need some help I will write up a walkthrough.

re: Drug Trafficking Mission help here!

Okay this is going to be LONG! The reason is I want to be as detailed as possible because level 8 is ridiculously hard on all the Drug Trafficking missions. I discovered this method myself because I was literally wracking my brains on ALL level 8's for this activity. For this walkthrough, I will use Laura. You meet up with her in the Suburbs just northeast of Scratch That Music.

Some preparation you should do before starting this mission:

The Fist - Make sure you have one in each of your 4 slots! You may need some quick health.

Infinite Sprint - Make sure you have sprayed all tags throughout Stillwater and have Infinite Sprint. I really don't think this walkthrough will help if you don't!

VERY IMPORTANT: Ignore the other walkthroughs floating around for this mission when they tell you to conserve your Rockets and your big weapons. Don’t be afraid to use most of them on the first three deliveries. As you will see, that should be all you need them for!

Okay, let's get to it!

1st deal - Misty Lane: Easy enough. It's a few blocks away and you won't meet any resistance until you are about halfway there. Dispatch your enemies any way you see fit on your way to this drug deal.

2nd deal - Tidal Springs: Here, get out of the car and kill all the law enforcement while Laura does her drug deal. Protect her, of course. Ignore the other walkthroughs that tell you to stay in your car. You are about to ditch this ride anyway! just make sure you are good with the combat system. Now go to your pause map and put the Forgive & Forget Confessional which is 2 blocks away from this drug sale, in Tidal Springs on your GPS as a waypoint. Important: Once the deal is done RUN to the confessional and make sure Laura follows you. She will mostly keep up with you, but be careful to monitor her health as well as her distance from you on your radar. You may have to revive her, but she handles herself pretty well against even the FBI, so her health should only be a problem if she gets run over. Don't engage any law enforcement unless you absolutely have to. If your health gets low while running to the confessional, because the FBI and cops are firing at your back, eat a FIST to replenish it. Oh, another thing I found is that it is best to stay on the left side of the road that leads to the confessional. This way you can run between all the trees and the highway supports in a zig zag fashion so that the FBI and cops will keep crashing into these blockades rather than running you over. This is very effective and should actually give you the advantage while running on foot! Now once at the confessional, don't run through it yet. First let an FBI truck catch up to you, kill the two FBI guys who get out and then run through the confessional on foot. This will ensure that the forgiving FBI agents don't get back into their truck and drive off. You will now have an FBI truck to jump into, which is a VERY strong and fast vehicle for her to drive. Oh and this game sometimes has an odd glitch. You may emerge from the confessional all forgiven and then get one star the second a cop sees you. If this happens, just run through one more time to get rid of the weird residual, re-emerging notoriety. Now, keep in mind that this will only be temporary relief though as once you get to the blue marker that is your next drug deal, your full wanted level will be reinstated. Still, it makes things a lot easier between deals! It will be GREAT relief and will save your ammo since you won't have to use it between the confessional and your next customer. Oh and if you used one or more of your FIST burgers for health there is a Freckle Bitch’s on the main drag on your way to the next deal. Feel free to jump out and replenish your food, which is easy enough with NO notoriety at all. Laura will take one of two routes from the confessional. If she takes the West side route it will bring you right past the Burger joint. If not, then you will need to jump out just north of the On the Rag clothing store and run the entire block. No biggie because you will still not have any notoriety.

3rd deal - Misty Lane: Your next customer is also in Tidal Springs and as soon as you get there, WHAMMO, you have 5 stars and Westside notoriety again. Dispatch any troublesome police or Rollers in any fashion you like, and when Laura is done with her illicit transaction get into the FBI again. If it is even a little trashed, just grab a fresh one, as there should be plenty surrounding you. Now set the same Forgive & Forget as your Waypoint.

Now this is important: Jump out of the FBI truck right before you get onto the highway (just across the street from Freckle Bitch's) and run to the Forgive & Forget. It will be a little longer of a run this time, but nothing you can't handle with Infinite Sprint! Use the same duck & Cover + food strategy that you used for the last stop to the confessional. Oh and DON’T follow the GPS to the confessional. It will take you around the block, a little out of your way. Instead, detour through Freckle Bitch’s parking lot and onto the main road where the GPS picks up on your radar. Again, make damn sure to try your best to WAIT for an FBI truck to catch up to you before going through the confessional. Kill the two occupants and then run through the drive-through. Now, I am replaying this to write this walkthrough and I just had something REALLY weird happen. I ran through, lost my notoriety and the cops & FBI attacked again, giving me one star for nothing. No big deal except I went through again and the same thing happened. Hahaha I finally killed all the law enforcement and gang members and went through for a third and fourth time before I was completely safe. Fortunately, with only one star, both gangs and law enforcement are pretty toothless, so just wait around the confessional until the game stops giving you one star. It took me four or five times this time around after my 3rd drug sale! Lol

Now just sit tight while she drives your hopefully pristine FBI to the Arena District. Hell, turn on your favorite station and just enjoy some tunes for a few minutes while Laura plays chauffeur. Once she pulls into the drug spot just west of the Rim Jobs, south of the Arena, make sure to kill anyone who bothers you. You get a real advantage though by using my method, because rather than being constantly hammered as soon as you hit the deal spot, it takes a little time for Rollers and law enforcement to spawn. Sometimes you may not even see an enemy until she is almost ready to get back into your still pristine FBI truck.

Okay, swat all mosquito's and squash all other annoying assholes who make the mistake of trying to stop you and she will get back in the car. Use whatever weapons you have to defend yourself, but don't get to stressed about keeping this FBI too pristine. You are going to be ditching it in a minute. Anyway, as you pull away from the 4th deal, go to your pause map and set the Forgive & Forget in the Apartment Districts as your waypoint! Great news kiddies, you will pass within a few measly feet of that one, so really no stress here. About the only problem is you have a pretty long straightway between your 4th client and the confessional, but it should be a cakewalk even if you have already used all your big weapons. The FBI takes some serious punishment! Now watch your map and jump out right across the street from the confessional. Wait for an FBI, kill the occupants to secure your ride and lose the notoriety. Get back in and Laura will drive you and your shiny new FBI to your 5th and final deal in Sommerset. Now you are pretty much home free. She will pull into the gas station and sell her wares to her loopy customer and your final stop is only about a half mile south of here where you pass level 8. One possible annoyance is sometimes she crashes into one of the pumps making it explode. No biggie if you are in the FBI. It can take more than that. I just experimented with this last leg of the mission. I basically let her crash into the pump and drive away. Then I totally ignored the FBI and police ramming and shooting me, and didn't even fight back. I still made it easily to the checkpoint, so just make sure you snagged a mint condition FBI truck at the Forgive & Forget in Sommerset and you should be all set.

General tips: Try to kill all law enforcement around you before jumping out of your vehicle. The idiots who programmed the “falling down” physics in this game made it WAY too easy for you to get busted or Smoked while your character tries to get up in SLOW motion after a fall.

If you are running to a Forgive & Forget, particularly after the 2nd & 3rd deals, you may have to turn and fight, lest you be overwhelmed by FBI and cops shooting you while you are running. Just don't linger and give them too much chance to pile up. If you absolutely have to stand our ground a few times while running to the confessional, be as efficient a killer as you can. Get in, get out and continue running. Run in a serpentine fashion around solid trees, highway supports and any other solid structures you can make them crash into while you are running to the Forgive & Forget. It will make your life a lot easier.

I used Laura as an example, but you can apply the same reasoning for any of the three level 8 Drug trafficking. It works very well for all of them. You just have to be aware of where you need to exit your vehicle closest to the confessional, to sprint there whenever you can!

I'm sure you can use these tactics on levels 5 through 7 of the Drug Traffickign activity, but I found them far easier to do straight up than level 8.

That's a real neat trick I would've never thought of it. That would've been helpful a couple months back, but I did it already. But if I ever start a new game definitely gonna try it.

re: Drug Trafficking Mission help here!

My first time through the game from 0% to 100% I beat all the level 8's the way the game expects you to. After I got 100% I started again at 0% and when I got to these I was doubly frustrated because I had already done them. Everything up to and including level 7 of the drug trafficking missions is pretty easy, but I was fumbling through level 8 and I just started getting pissed and looked for another way to do them. I would be more than glad to walk you guys through the Vice Kings and Los Carnales drug Trafficking level 8. Just let me know if you really need them and are working on them now and I will do it by the end of the weekend.

re: Drug Trafficking Mission help here!

Okay, I have the walkthrough for level 8 of the Vice Kings Drug Trafficking mission. You first meet the guy in the Museum District, if you aren't sure which one this is. This one is going to be considerably easier, because I found an INSANELY easy way to beat the level 8 of this guy and I did it three times in a row to make sure I was right.

Oh here is an interesting tidbit I discovered when I booted up my 100% save to write this walkthrough: If you do the drug trafficking missions late in the game, when the Saints control ALL the territory, your gang members will be all over the street, everywhere you stop and will all jump to your aid. This will make the Drug Trafficking missions a lot easier. I actually had to reboot the game and load an early save to write this because it was way too easy redoing it on my 100% completion save!

First thing you need to do is finish your Hitman missions in all three locations. You should do this anyway because I assure you that the Platinum and Gold weapons at your crib are more than worth it just by themselves, not even for this mission. If you haven't done the Hitman missions and don't have these weapons you are missing out on literally the best weapons in the game. Okay, sermon over, let's get to it.

If you have the weapons, especially the Platinum RPG then DO NOT worry about ammo. The mission gives you a certain amount of ammo at the start of each level, which presumably, once it's gone it's gone. However, that isn't the case here. So for the purpose of keeping your vehicle in good shape, you are going to use all your big weapons as liberally as you like, without regard to running out. By big weapons, I mean the rocket launcher, the assault rifle, the shotty and the uzi. As you will see you're only going to need what the game gives you until a little after you finish the third deal anyway. Start out as normal and just toggle to the Rocket Launcher. The one thing you should PRACTICE at here is making your rockets all count. There is no walkthrough to help you with this, you just need to get good at aiming the damn thing so that you hit your target. A few tips with it might help:

1. Try not to shoot while your driver is swerving and turning if you can help it. For some reason the shots just aren't as accurate as they should be. The game seems to take your momentum into account and your shots get a little exaggerated. You'll see what I mean if you try to shoot an enemy with the RL while your driver is turning. 2. Another thing with the RL is you should try not to shoot if you are on top of even a slight hill in the road, because it takes a second or so to shoot and you will usually hit the road and not your target. So like I said, make all your shots count and try to hit your targets as much as you can so as not to waste the rockets. 3. Don't waste your rockets on the regular cop cars. You can use your assault rifle, your Uzi or even your regular handgun. Save your rockets, as much as possible, for the FBI and the gang cars, which will really pour on the damage, particularly the big FBI truck ramming you and the Vice Kings which riddle your car with bullets from all four occupants!

Whenever you are using a gun that fires bullets, try your absolute best to fire at the driver through the windshield. If you get good at this you can disable the car with just a few shots, and it will end up crashing as you pull away, rendering the passengers helpless to hurt you.

When you pull into the 1st, 2nd and 3rd drug sales, you can exit the vehicle and take on your enemies if you are good at combat. Make sure you have 4 "The Fists" in your food slot as they give you the biggest boost in health when you eat them. If you prefer, stay in the car and use your shotty, uzi or assault rifle on anyone who bothers you.

Now here is the most important part of this walkthrough: After the third deal is done, you will pass through the Mission District in the area where your first crib is located. Right before your driver makes the left turn which brings you to the road that leads to the bridge, jump out. Now, if you pause your map you will be jumping out right around the corner from your crib, so make sure you time it right. Also, try to make sure that you have killed any law enforcement that is following you. This game has a wacky way of dealing with bailing on a vehicle in that even if your driver is only doing like 5 miles per hour, you will still fall right to the floor when you exit, and if there are any FBI or cops around it will take you so long to get up that very often you will be BUSTED. As soon as you are out of the original vehicle assuming you survived the vehicle exit with your health and freedom intact, run as fast as you can to your crib, making sure your partner in crime is following you. Go into your crib and enter your weapons cache and start loading up on every gold and platinum weapon you have. Oh and if you haven't switched vehicles yet AND the one your partner is driving is in relatively good shape, then pause your game BEFORE you run to your hideout and drop a marker right on where you are. This way you can find the vehicle again. As long as it isn't smoking, the truck your partner drives is always preferable to jacking another car, because the car health is a lot stronger with your boss's car.

Anyway, you have ran to your hideout now and are inside. The danger here is that law enforcement will follow you into your hideout. So while your partner will shoot at them and somewhat protect you, it may be necessary to come out of the cache, dispatch a few FBI and cops and then re-enter your weapons cache. In writing this walkthrough, I replayed this a bunch of times. Sometimes I never had to leave the cache at all, other times I had to leave it once or twice, and still other times, I had to come out to kill law enforcement several times. Whatever, it's easy enough to do, if not a little tedious.

Follow the HUD around the corner to your abandoned vehicle or just jack an FBI if you feel your original car is not in good shape. Now toggle to your Platinum RPG. Not only do you now have three times the ammo for it than you started off with in this mission with, but the Platinum RPG is a lot more deadly than the regular RL. In fact, all the Platinum and Gold weapons you just snagged from your crib are far deadlier, not to mention a lot more plentiful, than the weapons the game started you off with for the beginning of the mission.

You have a nice long stretch on the bridge leading to Downtown, and it should be very easy to destroy every single vehicle that threatens you. Just aim behind you and blow up every FBI, police and gang car that is following you once it comes into range. Ammo shouldn't even be a minor problem at this point, because in a minute or two, you won't need it anyway.

Once at your 4th drug sale, again make sure to protect the driver and whatever vehicle you're driving. After the final deal is done, pause your game and drop a marker on the Forgive & Forget, which is a few blocks away. You are going to pass right by it. Exit the vehicle right across the street from the confessional and run through it. This should make your notoriety go bye-bye and then you just jump into any vehicle you see and you can just sit back and relax while your partner in crime drives you home in peace with zero notoriety.

I will do the Carnales as soon as I can.
