The Sword of Akatosh - RP (Sign up and Information Thread) |
|
Ok so yeah this is my first go at running an RP so gimme a bit of slack and such.
Rules: Story: Long ago during the Reign of Tiber Septim , there was a great clash between Divine Crusaders and the Daedric forces of Mehrunes Dagon however in the resulting chaos the Grand Sword of Akatosh was lost to Oblivion and was never seen again. Over time the Castle of the Divines was lost to the deep forests northwest of Chorrol. Now however a mysterious Altmer claims to know the whereabouts of the sword and the castle. He seeks the bravest adventurers to join him in his quest for the ancient weapon. Objective: Collectively as team find the Sword of Akatosh in the Castle of The Divines. Setting: The Castle of The Divines, Deep within the forest. Players: Set up your characters in this way if it helps Name: Sex: Race: Weapon 1: Weapon 2: Magicka: (Lets say 4 schools of magicka max , including Alchemy) Description: appearance/attitude be creative Background: your characters history So once youve got a character ready post it here and we'll get underway Players: Kalin Velothi Name: Kalin Velothi Sex: Male Race: Dark Elf Weapon 1: Perfect Amber Longsword Weapon 2: Perfect Amber Bow Magicka: Destruction, Alchemy and Illusion. Description: Kalin Velothi stands as tall as your average Dark Elf, with Black flowing hair tied back into a rouge knot. Hardened by combat and experience in most fields, Kalin's attitude is mainly very straight forward. He will achieve whatever he can set his mind to, but be warned. Kalin can be quick to anger. His build, is quite muscular, and he carries the eyes of a trained marksman and the intelligence of a skilled alchemist. Background:Kalin Velothi was adopted in Skingrad, into a poor family. Living on the streets, scraping what they could to survive. When he turned 14 he was caught stealing from the local goods merchant, and was sent to prison. From there, he was shipped to Morrowind to work in the Kwama mines. Once he reached 17, he decided there was more to life than hard labor. So he took up the studies of Magic and joined the Fighters Guild in Balmora. After 4 years of studies, he quite the Fighters Guild and decided to go back to Cyrodiil, to continue his training in more depth. Upon reaching Cyrodiil, he had turned 25. By this time he was a master of combat, and was able to fight against just about anybody, and come out successful. After his training was complete, he started exploring more regions. Knowing that there wasn't a battle he couldn't win, and one day he came across something that would change him forever. A strange portal to a realm of madness, and there he spent 2 years. Then finally, changed by the events of his life he set out on another expedition. Which brings him up to date... Nyfftotal90 Name: Adrien Bernard Sex: Male Race: Breton Weapon 1: Glass Longsword Weapon 2: Daedric Dagger Magicka: Destruction, Alteration, Illusion Description: Adrien is fairly tall, with short black hair and a fair face. He is stubborn and is very skeptical of people, but is also honest and trustworthy. He is a talented mage, but loves to fight with a sword in hand. He is not particularly strong, but is very athletic and uses his speed to his advantage in battle. Background: Adrien grew up with a semi wealthy family in Cheydinhal. He had a comfortable life and was talented as a mage, but was very interested in fighting with a blade from a very early age. When he was 19 he decided he wanted to go out and see Cyrodiil. He went to Bravil, and was shocked at the amount of poverty there. While in Bravil a group of nasty Argonians who he thought he could trust tricked him out of all of his money, and stole all of his personal belongings. This made Adrien more cautious, and he would never really trust anyone properly again. He decided to join the fighters guild, but to his dismay he struggled in combat as he was fairly average with a sword. He then realised that he could use magic to his advantage and loved to vary what he did in battle; whether it was destroying the enemy with Destruction, giving himself the advantage with Alteration or confusing his enemy with Illusion. During his time in Bravil he had become very skeptical of people. After 3 successful years in the Fighters Guild, he decided that he wanted to become a better mage in battle so he joined the Mages Guild in Anvil. After spending four years there honing his magic skills he traveled to the Imperial City, and joined the Arena. He was always a hit with the crowds, and in 2 years managed to win 34 fights in the Arena. By this point he was a popular figure in the City, but grew tired of fame and wanted something new. He then heard rumours of the Sword of Akatosh and longed for the adventure... Krantos Name: Merris Avidiens Sex: Male Race: Bosmer Weapon 1: Elven Bow w/ sliver arrows Weapon 2: Silver Dagger Magicka: Illusion, Mysticism, Alteration. Description: Shorter, even for a Bosmer, Merris makes up for it with pure energy. This twenty-something Wood-elf is not what you would call devilishly handsome yet is never-the-less attractive in a somewhat boyish way. Green-eyed with well trimmed dishwater blond hair, his youthful appearance and ready smile have a quality about them that makes one want to trust him. Like most members of his race he is remarkably keen eyed, but he also has some of the nimblest fingers one is likely to find. Not particularly adept at any form of combat Merris prefers and is quite skilled at avoidance, able to move silently with considerable ease. Background: If you ask Merris his history you are likely to be treated to a number of rousing tales, most including insurmountable odds and distressing...er, distressed damsels, ready to throw themselves into the arms (and more) of their stalwart champion. It makes for a good fireside tale, particularly since Merris' glib tongue and ready wit make him very pleasant to listen to, but little of it seems true, especially when one takes into account his second hand equipment and the fact that his clothes, while well made, have seen better days. To take his word on it he was the son of some great noble who was forced to disown him for political reasons, but who will, one day, welcome back with open arms when certain political rivals have been dealt away with. In the meantime Merris claims he is simply traveling across Tamriel to make his own fortune as an adventurer and treasure hunter. The truth of his upbringing and origins are likely less fantastical, yet it is also likely that they are known only to Merris himself and he prefers the epic version of his past. Merris scorns violence as a recourse to the uncivilized, and proclaims that anyone that resorts to violence is a simpleton. Never to their face, mind. Instead of fighting, Merris has a special gift for talking his way out of nearly any situation or, failing that, he can always use his modest skills at magic to aid his escape. Perhaps Merris' most notable asset is the fact that he is inexplicably and indisputably lucky. Why he chose to search for the Sword of Akatosh is anyone's guess. He claims it could be the crowning achievement in his escapades, though he laments the small chance of meeting any fresh young maids whilst exploring dusty old ruins. You can't help but notice, however, that, despite all his bravado, he seems rather anxious about something, jumping at loud noises and shrinking into a corner whenever someone arrives. Perhaps, like his history, Merris' reasons are not what he claims... LostGateToCruelty Name: Adaemu Telvanni Sex: Male Race: Dark Elf - 'Dunmer' Weapon: Daedric Dagger Magic Schools: Destruction, Conjuration, Restoration, Illusion - Number of magic schools approved by BP. Description: Adaemu has a gaunt, long face, disfigured by continuous use of magicka. He Is slightly taller than the average Dunmer, thin, and not physically imposing. Adaemu chooses to wear a simple green robe, along with a green hood. Background: Adaemu was born, and raised, to a family of Dunmer in Morrowind - Vvardenfell district. His father was a Mouth of the Telvanni Wizards, and his mother a Telvanni councilor. As his parents were high in the ranks of the Telvanni, when Adaemu came of age and joined the Great House, he was allowed to skip ranks and become a Mouth as soon as he joined. Though, this was not all because of his parents standing in the House. As a boy, and even more so through-out his older years, Adaemu showed great skill, and control, of magicka. Though he had had a few accidents. His first assignment, as a Mouth, for the House was to investigate a rumor about the 'Sword of Akatosh' re-apearing somewhere In Tamriel, and he was only to eager to begin... Skythelegend Name: Sky "the invincible/legend". Sex: Male. Race: Altmer. Weapon 1: Daedric Katana with the same enchantment as the Black Hands Dagger (Morrowind). Weapon 2: Enchanted Rings (Morrowind). Magicka: Enchant (Morrowind), Mysticism (Morrowind "Teleportation") and Illusion. Description: A well dressed Altmer with pure (no identifyable pupil or iris) sky blue eyes and softly glowing yellow veins, can feel when his skills are needed for the good of the Nirn and will do whatever it takes short of breaking the law, at least when there are witnesses. Background: Having defeated the great Maormer fleet some lifetimes ago, Sky also helped the Neravarine on more than one occasion, was unfortunately killed in the void and was murdered on a pirate ship in the middle of the ocean during a haunted game of "whodunit?", more recently Sky found most of his old equipment and sensed he was needed somewhere in Cyrodiil, he heard about the Sword of Akatosh from his old friend Janus Hassildor who he has known for over two hundred years. swk3000 Name: Erandur Sex: Male Race: Altmer Weapon 1: Akaviri Katana Weapon 2: Akaviri Katana Magicka: Destruction, Restoration, Illusion Armor: Heavy Armor Description: Erandur is short for an Altmer, and also more muscular. He's noticeable only because his physique is not that of the average Altmer. Background: While Earandur has his race's talent for Magic, Erandur has always been fascinated by the complexities of using the Sword. Where other Altmer view physical combat as little more than waving a large sword around, Erandur views it as a thing of beauty, especially when the person using the sword has the proper training. Because of this fascination, he gave up his studies in Magic in order to concentrate on the sword. His race's talent and his own studies ensure that, while he's not a Master of magic, he can at least use some of the more basic spells to aid him in adventuring. However, his true talent lies with the sword. At the age of 21, Erandur decided that he'd become the best fighter he would ever become with just training. He therefore announced his intention of leaving the Summerset Isles to seek adventure, on the grounds that, sometimes, in order to become better, you have to put your life on the line. He has only recently arrived in Chorrol, and was looking for some adventure when he heard a stranger talking about the Sword of Akatosh... Erandur is a very serious person; while he is more than capable of joking around, he generally regards the world from a pragmatic point of view. He's slow to anger, but when he does get mad, he will content himself with muttering insults about whatever made him mad to himself; he's not the sort of person to blow up. daedrothman Name:Skra'virr Gender:Male Race:Khajiit Weapon: Daedric Shortsword Armor: Light Skra'virr was born into a wealthy family of Khajiits in the Imperial City. His father had strangely been gone for most of his childhood. During this time, he trained his abilities in the weapon of Blade. Several years later at the age of 16 his father was arrested for loyalty to the Thieves' Guild. His father resisted arrest and was slain on sight. As the gaurds left he stared at his father, finding a note on his corpse saying that Skra'virr was to run to Weye with his mother and brother. As they ran both his mother and brother were shot on sight by Imperial Guards. He was arrested and sent to the Imperial Prison. He eventually managed to escape with members of the Blades, unfortunately, he had forgotten all his combat skills. He later fought off the hordes of Oblivion and became the guildmaster of the Fighter's Guild. However, one day in Chorrol, where his father had been buried, he heard a rumor from Modryen Oreyn, the Vice-Guildmaster of the Fighter's Guild. He later went to visit his Father's grave, where he saw his ghost, saying that he was very disappointed in him for completely abandoning his natural thief talents. The best way to restore his honor was to steal the Sword of Akatosh... Platypusburger Name: Erk Gender: Male Race: Argonian Weapon 1: Dwarven Warhammer, enchanted to absorb health on strike. Armor: Full Dwarven, sans helm. Description: Erk is tall, broad, muscular, and generally frightening to behold. Almost as tall as an Altmer, but as broad as a Nord. Erk has blood red eyes and scales, with short but sharp black claws upon his hand. His entire body ripples with muscles that stretch his scaly skin taut. A nine-inch dorsal ridge runs along his skull. His pupils are but tiny slits, smaller even than most Argonians' and his teeth are far sharper and more numerous than seems normal. He strikes onlookers as a being not to be trifled with. Personality wise, Erk is extremely blunt. He says what needs to be said, and not another word. He is honest at all times, and finds himself incapable of doing evil, despite his frightening and devilish appearance. He loves to fight, however and will gladly do so whenever the law allows. As such, he is of Champion Rank in the Arena. Background: Most Argonians are named shortly after their hatching, based upon their first actions as an adolescent. This was not the case with Erk. An orphan, he arrived mysteriously in Leyawiin, having crossed the border, alone and unequipped, from Black Marsh. The guards of the city gate watched as he approached, a mere child, running in terror as he was pursued relentlessly by a swamp troll. The guards ran to his aid, but the troll fell upon him before they could rescue him. The two fell to the ground, rolling around in a tangle of limbs. Suddenly, the troll made and unusual noise: "ERK!!!" and then promptly fell dead, its neck broken. And so the orphan was named. The Leyawiin guards that found him raised him in their barracks. He learned strength and honor from them, as well as the nature of the law. As he grew, he became disdainful of the guards' light armor and thin swords. He preferred weapons and armor that could take full advantage of his raw power. He trained in the swamps, fighting whatever dark creatures lurked by night, and serving his caretakers in the barracks by day. In this way he grew tall, strong, proud, and noble, until the day he left Leyawiin to seek his fortune, with only his dwarven armor, taken from the corpse of a marauder, and an enchanted warhammer, a parting gift from the soldiers and guards who raised him. In no time at all, he heard of an ancient relic, the Sword of Akatosh, and so... Role playing, genius.
Name: Kalin Velothi Sex: Male Race: Dark Elf Weapon 1: Perfect Amber Longsword Weapon 2: Perfect Amber Bow Magicka: Destruction, Alchemy and Illusion. Background:Kalin Velothi, was adopted in Seeyda Neen, Morrowind. At Thirteen he left his adopted Parents, when he decided that he would become a great in Morrowind History. Upon arriving at Balmora for his first time, he souk out the Fighters and Mages guilds, for both training and shelter. He was accepted into both and proved an exceptional student in Alchemy, Marksman and Blade. After Five harsh years of training, he decided to take a slower route, and investigate his families history. Whilst reading a book on history, he found connections between the prophet Veloth and the Velothi's. So he looked in more depth to the subject, only finding that he must have been one of the last Velothi's and heir to the Guardians. As intriguing as the subject was, he pressed for answers. But never found anything that would help, until one day when he left for Dagon Fell, and found a dead traveler, with a note in his breast pocket. It explained about an ancient Castle, the Castle of the Nine Divines, the Guardian Clan and a sword. At the age of Twenty, Kalin had arrived in Cyrodiil to continue his search for this Castle, armed with skills unmatched by many he reached Bruma by foot, where he was taken in by the Bruma Mages Guild. After only spending a few months in Cyrodiil, Kalin came across his Amber Bow, Arrows and Sword which was a find that even the most skilled treasure hunters would not dream of finding. But now, Kalin finally embarks once more on his search for answers, why. For the power and Glory? No, plainly for the answers and the hope of once more honoring the Guardian Clan. Right i've decided to allow a maximum of 4 magicka schools, You dont have to have 4 , it depends on your character and if it fits his/her RP, Alchemy included. And we have a pretty good number of people so i'll get the main thread started soon , ill give another hour or so for any more entries.

And somehow..... I think I became the comic relief..
Seriously, I think I'm the only one that didn't make my character a total balls-to-the-walls-badass. Meh, I can do humor. I hope. AAAAnd the starving group uses Merris for slaughterfish bait. FAIL! -------------------

I have to say, this should be fun.
One word of advice, The minuet we get the sword I kill you all and take it. Joking I prefer to keep my characters to be the non talkative types, more mysterious. Bringing the Guardians Guild into this would be cool, since it was governed by the Velothi Clan, once called Veloth. ------------------- quote Kalin VelothiVisit my NeoHome or Blog Why not sign my Guest Book | |

quote KrantosActually, while you may have gone a different route for your character than we did, I'd have to say that your character's description is far superior to any of ours. I'd actually say your character is the most realistic, if not the most powerful. Kalin: You're going to be waiting a while.
