So um... |
|
Finally got my hands on this game. I've always noticed how popular this game thread is despite how long it's been out.
Now i just wanna ask a few questions here and there. What's the impact of working on your major skills? What sort of things should i always have in my items? Can anyone tell me a good way of making gold? ------------------- < New Gamertag

1 That is the only way to level up.
2 Extra weapons and armor, potions, repair hammers if you use the armorer skill, alchemy equipment if you use alchemy, etc. 3. Find one really expensive item that isn't armor or weapons, buy two of the same scroll or more, (I bought six, so I do this a lot faster) and go into your inventory, press A or X on the scrolls two times, depending on if you're using 360 or ps3 versions. Then go to that expensive item in the inventory, drop it, and it will be duplicated by how many scrolls you have of the same. Now pick only one up and repeat. once you have around 20-50 pick up all of them and sell them. ------------------- ![]()

quote UltimaSnakeincrease your major skills by ten points, and you level. it can get a lot more complicate than that. for instance, do you want to pick major skills that you use all the time, so you level quickly? or skills you rarely use, so you can control levelling, and get the maximum bonuses every time? i highly suggest checking out uesp.net for more information on the game. quote UltimaSnakedepends on how you play. unless you're a mage, i'd recommend:
quote UltimaSnakeselling duplicate items obtained from dungeon crawls. make your first bit of gold, btw, at the arena. you should make enough to buy the imperial waterfront house. concentrate on purchasing that house, and pimping it out. that will give you storage space, so you can leave stuff at home. then you will have more inventory space for stuff you can sell.

If you sell duped strong health potions or filled grand soul gems (Which btw are worth 500 gold) you could easily get enough money to buy the waterfront house/shack/living area whatever it is, still, I'd recommend arena like arachnophillia said because it gives you a bonus in skills too.
If you're gonna be a warrior, I'd recommend the knight or barbarian classes (Depending on heavy/light armor), rogue would be thief or archer or acrobat, basicly anything based on stealth that has marksman and blade as major skills, And for mage would be battlemage or mage, or other stuff based on magic. ------------------- ![]()

re: So um... |
quote UltimaSnake1.Leveling up 2.Depending on your skills, but I'd always say atleast a sword,mortal/pestle,health/magic potions,arrows/bow,2 rings,1 ammy, scrolls(for dupe glitch),keys,lockpicks,torchs,-black- soul gems or not even that if your fluent in spellcraft. If you strart DB or kill Umbra you always have a sword and they are 0 weight until the quest is finished. I also duped Varla stones to recharge things when I need them. 3.Gold legit, WITHOUT dupe glitch, raid dugeons, it would be better if we knew your lvl...But raid, sell, or Welkand stones are 50 coins each, the first Ayleid right outta the sewers has about 20 in there all together. Varla stones are much more useful so I try not to sel mine, Varla-recharge enchantments, Welkland-Recharge magic Theres 1 Varla in that Ayleid. Alchemy skill, harvest things, mix together, sell, I use the Alchemy store in Skingrad to do this. Kill people, steal their money, leave, Churchs are great for this, You get around 500-1k coins each kill(about 3 people per church)Best to go in at night, sneaking, kill them sleeping, take stuff to sell thats of high vaule, move on to the next person, I like using detect life, as its invauleuble in these situations. Factions is another way, Mages guild is the only one that doesn't "pay" you for the quest you do for them, but you make up for money with power after complete. Arena-about 2k gold after your done, and possible a dwarven long if the Grand Champ is holding one, I hadDwarven Long and Elven armor at lvl 1, its kool to pwn everything! -Fighters Guild is the most annoying quest line for me, as I'm sneak through places kill, leave. This quest line is talki to him, follow her, kill these rats, etc, very time consuming and little reward, cept for the fact you get your Elven armor at lvl 1 there. -DB is one of the best story lines, good equipment, even for a Blunt users, cause they give fortify str enchanted things, which I find useful. You'll get about 5k form doing this, I'm guessing the prices, do correct me if I'm off by lots please. -TG is very fun, best quest line besides DB if you ask me, maybe a tie, but anywho, This gets you great money fast, as long as your sneaky and can steal easily. During the questline you will get about 2k after finished. But during that time you get acess to a fence(s), who will buy your stolen goods, I'll stolen 2756 items and sold them to the fence in Bruma, hes my favorite and I remember where he lives You can continue to use the fences after TG is complete, but there is a quest that will stop u from using the best fence, its a side quest where you have to steal a sword, and either give it to him for 500 coins or get one of the best sheilds in the game, "Escahgjufhdgldghdfudflghdfgul of Chorrol" Dramatic effect but its name might aswell be that...I got the sheild, but then you cant use him as fence anymore, and hes one of the best people to sell things to in he game, if not the best. EDIT: Forgot to add dupe glitch in here, incase you want to ever dupe anything and be un legit, I do it all the time, doesn't make you bad just lazy Though I've beaten the game without it, its time consuming which I hate... Dupe Glitch: 1.Have 2 of -fire ball- scroll and one of -frost ball- scroll 2.tap A twice! 3.drop the item you wish to be duped, in this case -frost ball- two of the scroll will come up instead of one 4.I dupe scrolls in afew things that way I can use them for different things... 2-useful number 10-Used for random things like Brethar's Heart, Human Heat, Hist, etc 40-Used mainly for potions 100+-Used for Arrows and Lockpicks and Alcehmy ingredients mostly, how I get lvl 100 in about 5min...Duped tons of -Daedra Heart- and -Harrada- and your set! Just dupe scrolls until you have a number you want then when you drop the item say you had 10 -fire ball- scrolls and dropped a -iron dagger- 10 iron daggers would come instead of just 2 like normal...hope tha thelp aswell as the other stuff, I suggest trying everything legit, and then only using dupe when you have to, makes the game much more fun. Theres my novel of answers, hope they help in sum way. ------------------- Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time. ~ Thomas Merton

Alchemy is by far one of the best money makers in the game. When you get high enough in alchemy you can just go to an alchemy store, buy all the ingredients in stock, make those into potions and sell them back = profit.

I would not suggest going for max leveling the first time through the game. It just isn't as much fun if you try to do that. I've considered trying it, but Its just not worth it.

I agree with Turkagent. Take that part slow. It makes the game worthwhile.

Just play the game first then make a God character, best way I've found to enjoy it, cause you can correct you r mistakes and you alrdy know alot about the game.

Yeah.... This game, unlike most other games, Doesn't really need much advice. The game is so big, and there are so many ways to correct mistakes, it doesn't make sense to look up cheats.

Does anyone play this game without abusing the duplication glitches anymore? Am I the only one who makes money via the old fashion way?
I really don't care one way or the other, I was just wondering if anyone on these forums refuses to use the glitches to make money like me....
