What are some reasons to keep playing? |
|
After You've achieved your dream armour / weapons, after you've beaten just about every quest, gotten every achievement, gotten to level 30+ on the three main class groups ( stealthy/archer, mage, warrior )... what keeps you playing? I don't see why I keep playing.. but i do and would like to know why if you guys do too.

Because there is always something else for you to try.
Start a new character and play it in a different way. Limit yourself on what types of skill you allow yourself to use before a certain level or stage in the game.

I stopped playing. Of course I have no touched my PS3 in at least a month, so there is that too. I need to get back on the nerd wagon.

Roleplaying. Minigames. Gold profits.
Endless possibilities. With exploring a world of this size, not roleplaying is pretty much impossible. ------------------- ![]() ♪Peace is anarchy, chaotic wild Thoughts and wonders reconciled♪

Well I see myself as a bit of a collector, so getting new unique enchanted items to put in my house always keeps me going.

"In the world I see - you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned superhighway." ~ Chuck Palahniuk

quote LostGateToCrueltyThat sounds more like a Fallout-esque apocalyptic future, not the Elder Scrolls. What are you on about? When I finish the game completely, I go play something else for a couple months. When I'm done with that game, I come back to this one and start again. It's refreshing.

re: What are some reasons to keep playing? |
quote PlatypusburgerOh, I agree that the quote seems more Fallout-esque, but creating similarities between the game and my reason of continued playing was not the point of my post. The point was simply to give a reason. My reason is that I'd rather live in a world as is described in the above quote, and while it may or may not sound Elder Scrolls-like, it certainly sounds more like fantasy or medieval than our current civilization. If the question had been posted on the Fallout forums, and concerned Fallout, than I'd have probably answered with the same quote. Because, as I've said, the world described by Chuck Palahniuk seems more akin to both the Fallout world and the TES world, than our current state now. ------------------- TEAR DOWN THE PYLONS

When you know there's glitches, hacks, mods, and cheats it really makes you ( or at least me ) not want to play... Like i cheated on 2 of my favorite characters.. my mage whom I gave the mace of doom unlimited sigil stones and over 1k Fame along with TONS of magicka and sadly, 130% shield... this is all permanent btw. and my warrior who i gave the same except the permanent enchantment.
Let me ask you guys something, when you first create a character how would you level the character up? The cheating way where you just go to pyrite shrine and sneak/fight the frozen people that can't fight back? Do you dupe things like lock picks or repair hammers? Do you as soon as you start try to get the skeleton key? Do you change the slider to easy mode? All these things really make me sick and ive done them to all of my characters which is definently why I don't like this game as much as I should. And you know what, sometime I'm gonna delete everything in my oblivion save and make new characters without cheats ( or i may just keep one character like my mage that I cheated on for some spice ). What do you think? ------------------- Click below to help. http://s1.bite-fight.us/c.php?uid=252969

Well I must say that cheats do really piss me off but I'm no saint, without cheats/glitches I don't think my Alchemy would bother me as much as it does now, I love Alchemy but without glitches it's a bitch to level up, I did one character without cheats or anything, I sacked off all of the cheats and turned the difficulty slider all the way and to be honest it sucks, I completed all his Major skills and everything and it was just.

I usually do the little quests before the main questlines. That way, I can have a nice little stash at my house of enchanted items.
I won't call this cheating, because it's readily available without glitches, but I use full chameleon armor. I turn the difficulty slider up to half, and sneak and attack monsters in forts. That way, I don't have to waste health potions (I get my restoration up by accidentally falling into traps). I don't much pay attention to leveling, unless it's quest-related somehow. (Specifically the case of Umbra in the SI quest "Symbols of Office", I decided to disintegrate it instead.) ------------------- ![]() ♪Peace is anarchy, chaotic wild Thoughts and wonders reconciled♪
