If your a higher lvl, you can buy them (I think), and then just dupe them, or buy more. Either way you get the same amount, one method just waste less money ;D Another way would be to loot Necromancer, Conjurer and Bandit caves, forts, etc, etc until you find some (Given you are the right lvl). -------------------  | |

As far as buying them and finding them in chests, soul gems are leveled. There are a few places where you will find grand soul gems laying on tables or in display cases. A couple are filled with grand souls. I do believe that there is on the AU campus. I'm thinking is was the 2nd floor of the archm ages tower. Not sure tho.

Theres two places you can "aquire" them at any level:
1. The Arcane Uni Tower 2. Chorrol Mages Guild All the cases are locked, and the gems on the second floor of the tower are never yours, whereas in Chorrol theyre free for the taking, you just have to pick the locks. -------------------  Good afternoon everyone, I'm Jeffery and I'm faking enthusiasm, may I take your order? | |

check the mages guilds, i think cheydinhal mages guild has one locked up idk if its filled but you can change it to a black one then fill it with an NPC soul

In the first floor of the Arcane University tower is a filled grand soul gem. I believe it is considered yours when you gain access to the University or become the Arch- Mage.

No that's not true, I believe that in order to get that specific souol gem, or anything in that room, you half to become Archmage first.
