Here's whats going on...

I only care about the game really, so I reserved just the normal game. Will I be 100% sure to get the game if I do the following?

My mall closes at 9:00 PM, I plan to go at 10 or 10:30 and wait outside until the reopening at midnight on the 24th. I know I won't be the first to get it, but will I be able to?

Have you asked the store you've reserved it at if they're doing a midnight launch? Some stores can't afford to do a midnight because they don't have enough reservations, so you definitely want to check that. Have you checked what procedure they're going to be followied? For example, at my store, you need to have the game completely paid off by the 23rd or you can't pick it up at midnight (we won't have cash registers to work with, probably just a clipboard with names). Lastly, if you've done all of the above, you can show up at 11:50 if you like, and since all we're going to be doing is checking IDs and handing out games (customer help should be about 30 seconds at MAX before we move on to the next one), you shouldn't have to wait in line for more than a few minutes.

I called in to the gamestop near me and they told me I'd be able to pay on the midnight launch and that they'll simply give me the game afterwards. I'm still thinking about just paying it off anyhow.

You need to have your copy completely paid off by the 23rd, show up around midnight (11:55 is what we tell people to do) and come with a photo ID. At 12:01 am we are allowed to sell the game, at which time we will verify your identify and give you the copy of your game.

If you don't have a picture ID (and therefore probably aren't even old enough to buy the game on your own), you'll need your parent to pick it up for you or have them accompany you to the pickup.

Only thing I'm worried about is I don't have an ID, although I am over 18, and the game was reserved under my moms name, who isn't going to go with me since I'm going to try to go to the mid-night release... I better be able to get my game, I still have the receipt.

EDIT: Nevermind, I should be alright. I have my senior ID saying I graduated last school year. Would that be enough, Sereph?

To tell you the truth, no. Bring the receipt and have them search by your number and full name if they can. First of all, the store should have asked for an ID when you reserved the game if they don't want to be fired (yes, we can be fired for selling a M rated game to someone underage). But in this case, I would ask you for the full name and phone number you reserved it under and if you have it, the receipt.

Also, why don't you have any kind of ID if you're 18? Don't you want to get a driver's license or something?

If I get a drivers license, then I have to start paying for my insurance. And seeing as how I don't have a car, nor need one, why waste the money on it for the few select times, such as this, where I would need one. As for just an ID (not a drivers license), I don't know why I don't have one. I told my mom I need one, and she kept refusing. I don't know why, she just did.

It's about $50 to just get a license, you don't need drivers ed if you are 18. Tell your mom to stop being a bitch.

I'd still have to pay my insurance. The license itself isn't the problem.

Yeah but it's still a form of ID, you don't have to buy a car too. Then if you ever really need to you could drive a family member or friends car.

It doesn't matter if it was my car or not, I'd still need personal insurance. Which you have to get when you get your license. Or so I'm told.

I had my license for over 2 months before getting a car and any kind of insurance. Maybe it's different if you don't take drivers ed, I don't know.
