Actually they were on the side of the Covenant.. The Elites just defected from the Covenant once they learned that the Prophet of Truth wanted to destroy the whole universe by using the Halo rings. -------------------  | |

Actually, the hunters that joined the elites were heretics I think, since they were locked up when Arby freed them. And the grunts... well, they are punks. They figured staying with Arby would let them live longer, and so they did. ------------------- quote Jared117 | |

Some grunts and hunters stayed with the Covenant, the rest sided with the elites. Seeing as how we saw so few elites anyway, I think the rest of the separatists were fighting the loyalists elsewhere. ------------------- The Pu Man says:

I forget where I read it, but a couple days before release I read that the Grunts switched sides because the Brutes threatened them and they're pussies. The Hunters don't really have free will; from what I've gathered they simply do what they're told and do it with ruthless efficency. ------------------- | |
