I just got gears last week, and it's a great game, except this checkpoint is seriously pissing me off. I'm on act 5, on insane mode. It's when you're at the top of the train manning the 2 troikas to kill off the reavers(?). I think it's the chkpt right before you have to face the wretches.

I can get up to 4 kills but then they 3-team me and at that point I die. I've also tried using the torque bow/troika combo but nothing seems to be working. Any tips for me?

It's more honorable and respectable to do it by yourself

use the sniper and torque bow to hit the reavers so you can keep moving around while you hit them from as far away as possible,keep moving around the boxes for cover

only use those turrets when you run out of ammo, cuz the stationary position lines you up for defeat

I would help you online but my Xbox died, anyhow it's much more rewarding doing it by yourself. I can't really explain HOW I did, all I can say is pick them off one by one, keep firing your troika.

get the longshot and snipe off the locusts heads driving the reaver if you do then the whole thing dies.

Hey you guys! thanks for the offers but I got past it somehow. hahahaha After posting i got inspired to play and ran by it after 2 tries. Pretty happy, but now Raam is giving me problems. Arugh.

just keep at it, people find different methods, you can look up alot of videos on youtube


what I did is keep a full boomshot the last couple Acts and used the torquebow until he got up close, and then boomshot blindfired, and when the FMV kicked in I was like

"Really??.................It's over?"

bout 4 or 5 acheivements popped up and it was kinda satisfying

Offline, Raam sucks to try to defeat. Dom is absolutely worthless, as he just runs in and gets downed.

Your best shot is a Torquebow/Longshot Combo, connecting with as many active reloads as you can before Raam makes it to your end of the car. When he gets there, the tough part is making it down the car to safe cover.

Between Raam's troika and the Reavers, this is a pain to do by yourself.

If you get a partner, online or offline, Raam is much easier to defeat, because then you actually have help from Dom, not an instant down.
