Is all the anti gears stuff I'm reading around actually genuine? I mean everyone I'm reading it from was always playing it lots so it seems kind of ridiculous. Sounds to me like people just bigging up what they're playing at the time. Either way, I still love gears mp, and also I really hated halo.

It is for me. Before my disc broke, Gears really annoyed me. It seems so glitchy and unbalanced.

Admittedly, this happens in halo too, but it seems to occur less. There's much more variety in Halo, and Custom Games are more fun.

To me The Orange Box is like Bioshock, it'll be the greatest thing you'll have played until a few weeks later when something new will take the frame.

Oz, Gears, at the time was the best game I'd ever played. But after completing it 100% and playing it dry to the bone, I found it very boring and was in need of something new. It also seems so serious, there's no variation in it however many new maps or game types they bring out it's always the same Shotgun abusing players in the same combat situations.

Halo has variation. Forge is admittedly not what it was hyped to be, but it's awesome what posibilities it can bring if you're good with it (Anyone played the Normandy Assault on Last Resort? ) and the Theater is amazing, that and the fact that you can upload your pictures via the Internet for free, has any other game even attempted that ? Custom games rock as well, you do have to have some sort of balance because taking the "lol 300% speed 50% gravity with spartan lazorz nd grav hmmerz, god i'm so frkn original" path, ( like Master Chief SAH ) can end up in very boring matches as they've all been done a lot.

I juts like Halo more than Gears. having said that, playing Gears for the first time stunned me more than playing Halo 3 for the first time, that is except for the Campaign. In which it sucked completely in Gears.

Then you're pretty fickle because there are certain games that are the greatest games you've ever played and that lasts for years.
