Tomb Raider Legend's Effect |
|
I'm the sentimental sort and, well, this is my story:
After I got to the bit where Child Lara loses her mother, my eyes were streaming. Then when Lara says on Peru: I'm not losing any more of my friends... I was sobbing like Niagra Falls all day. Then on Japan I was quite OK, West Africa made me cry, because Lara found her mother's prized possession. Kazakstan (however) just made me scream. That monster is freaky, btw. In other words, Tomb Raider Legend got to me. re: Tomb Raider Legend's Effect |
quote celestaI've had that feeling in other games, but TRL left me strangely unmoved for Lara. To me her mother's the one who gets short shrift, especially later in the series. And it's not like Lara doesn't cause plenty of death herself. The return to Bolivia especially. Everything could have worked out fine if she'd just talked with Amanda and Rutland. Even after Lara's bull in a china shop approach kills Rutland and defeats her, Amanda tries to help. Lara half-heartedly tugs at the sword, then turns and flees instead of saving her mother. | |
