Compatabilty with PC and PS2 versions

Basically, what do you think about the fact that when we get the game for the 360 we will be playing with other people who have spent years playing the game.

Personally i think that it is a bit unfair really, i mean, i was hoping i cud get the game quick and climb the ranks of players fast, being always at the top of the game (or at least try). Now i find out that wont happen i am slightly annoyed.

THen agen it does mean more players to play against and some veterans that could probaly help you along the way.

What do you think?

re: Compatabilty with PC and PS2 versions

well I have this for PC so the question doesn't really apply to me but it's good for me since my friends are coming back to FFXI when they get it for the 360

and it's not a solo game, you need other people to level up (once you get past a certain level anyway, most people start partying at level 10) so you'd have to be at the top with at least 6 other people

and with compatibility means more powerlevellers ^^

You will actually benefit from having players like me who have been around for over two years. There are always people leveling new jobs, so instead of you being forced to play with people who have no idea what they are doing, you will play with people with years of experience, and learn a lot more.

re: Compatabilty with PC and PS2 versions

Ima former pc and ps2 xi player.. and i understand your delimia.

Good thing is.. with all the availible classes, theres always people leveling at the lower levels.. 1-10 are meant to be a solo time more or less, learning your class to a certian point.

The most annoying part about xi (other then the economy) is the fact you'll need total dependance for other players... for make friends fast. Or, rather grab on to a static party. It's real frustrating once you get to mission 2-3 and from then on out, you'll need sometimes a full party of 6, to even an allignance of 3 full parties to get things that you will need. Ofcourse you join with your friends in equal minded peeps in a linkshell to help you along the way... provided they themselves are not tied up in thier own goings on. Soooo... gust stand in town and shout for others to help you get what you need.

Bottom line is, you'll get things done, just takes time.. and alot of people.

No.. you will not be one of the first one to the top... but maybe you can for the xbox crew ya? well... those who are not prior players just switching formats that is. He'll there are those who now have level 75 in every class! Must be nice to not have a real life outside the game. ^^

Oh, and for those thats gopnna play the game for the first time... read through the damn instruction manual ya? Already theres those in the game bitching of the new generation of noobs to come.. do yourself a favor, and study up. Don't pull mobs in a party as a black mage, dont try to tank as a white mage and don't.. for the love of holy, play as a warrior/ white mage.^^ Ahahaaa i kid, i kid.. play like you wanna.. hell, when i first started i thought white mage/ monk was a cool combo >.>

damn have i got off topic... anyhoooo... peace out.
