Uhh...because Zombies like to eat brains, and the cultists are just a bunch of mindless followers? That's my theory.

There are a couple different ways to do it, but I just go down to the Huntin' Shack grab the 3 shotguns, kill the convict using the machine gun, take the machine gun off then use it to kill the other two.

I defeated the convicts by using the white Truck and a Big Sword. I hit the Humvee head on, was ejected from the truck. Ran up to the driver, cut him down with the Big Sword. Ditto to the Passenger, all the while slashing Zombies in half and taking fire from the gunner. I drank a Gallon of Milk to replenish my health, jumped up on the Humvee and slashed the gunner until he dropped. Grabbed the Gun, cleared a path through the Zombies and made it back to the Security Room.
