Yesturday when i was playing DR my cousin brought up the idea of a Dead Rising movie. How sweet would that be!! They could totally make a movie of this game. What do u guys think about it?

Yeah! They could call it something like.. 'Dawn of the dead' =o!

Seriously though, the game has so many shades of that movie in it it's not even funny. I'm pretty sure it even says at some stage that the game is in no way related to the movie.

There's plenty of aweome zombie movies out there already in my opinion.

I really like the idea of a Dead rising movie. I don't really see how people can relate it to Dawn of the Dead anyhow..the Dawn of the Dead zombies were vicious, gruesome, untolerable monsters that had the strength and iq of 20 Dead rising zombies each.

Well in Dawn Of The Dead, survivors were trapped inside a mall with tonnes of zombies milling around outside until they go to save a person from a gunshop across the street and the zombies get inside. Then they escape using a modified bus, get on a boat and go to a secluded island where there is supposed to be no zombies. They all die. Supposedly.

Now. Since Dawn Of The Dead has a gunshop, mall, survivors and zombies, then Dead Rising must be a direct copy.
People who honestly think Dead Rising was direct plagiarism of Dawn Of The Dead, honestly, get over it and gtfo.

If you've seen the origonal dawn of the dead then you can see the similarities

Quote for truth, but I was really only trying to make a reference to the Dawn of the Dead zombies, and how they're different from the Dead Rising zombies. The part about the surrounding and escape routine that you stated is a fact why they are compared and contrasted.

And yeah, I also agree, Dead Rising is unique like Dawn of the Dead ( not shaun of the Dead ) but they both totally have differences.

they must have known when making the game that there would be this kind of discussion going on and it was similar otherwise they would never have put that on the cover

If they made a movie of this it would make more sense then dawn of the dead because dr had a good storyline ppl could follow up on

With reference to the zombies being different debate.

IMO the spiel about having nothing to do with Dawn of The Dead on the cover related to the original version (1970's / 80's not sure when) and not the 1990's /00's remake (with Ving Rhames).

In the original the zombies were slow shambling things like in DR and unlike the "Super-zombies" of the remake

Again, this is just my opinion and i am now probably showing my age.

as previously mentioned on the games case it states it is no way related to the dawn of the dead films.If Capcom made a film of this game they would be up to there necks in lawsuits meaning a loss of money,meaning no DR2,MEANING TOTAL ECONOMIC COLLAPSE,MEANING GEORGE BUSH WOULD CRY so yes make the damn film already

Dude a Dead rising movie would be awesome, but instead of the Whole Mall thing they should make there way to a Theme park like Disney world or Dreamworld, and the theme parks mascot Turns into a psycopath and tries to kill them hehe...id be scared S#%&less if i saw a guy in a scooby Doo suit with hunting blades and the bodies of people around him,Just an idea Folks
