anyone who droped 60.00 on this demo is a fool. the fact that EA would even release this garbage is a slap in the face to all gamers. I knew this exclusive rights BS would be the beginning of the end. with no competition EA has no incentive to make a quality product. Until they make a quality football game boycott EA, learn from last year rent madden 07 before buying

Don't want it? Don't buy it. I love Madden '06. Sure, there are a few things missing, but the basics which have kept the series running for so long are still there.

I didn't buy it and will not buy it until they make a worhty game. This was suppose to be a "next gen" game, so they raise the price and give us less? IMO, anyone that purchased this game is a sucker. The only way to get the message though EA's greedy minds is in the wallet. If people stop buying their rehashed game year after year then maybe we might get a decent football game on the 360. oh and how many years do you think they will use the same game engine that we saw in madden 06, I'll bet as long as they have the excluive rights

Every third-party game on the X360 is $59.99. That's not EA's doing. While I agree with you in the fact that since there's no challenge, EA has no reason to take its product to the next level, the reason they use the same game engine year after year is because to create a new one, they'd have to miss a year or two of football and that's just not going to happen.

EA wouldn't have to miss 2 or 3 years of football to implement a new game engine ... there are plenty of game engines they could lease that are far better than their regurgated one.

It's all about money and exclusive rights to the gaming engine ... personally i wish they would just go away for good (EA that is).

EA has taken more good game ideas and laid them to ruin than i ever thought was possible by one company. Whenever i hear a promising new game is being released through EA i just cross it off my list - EA is the deathknell for games.

Ea has disappointed me in the past. The last Madden game I really enjoyed was 2004.

Madden 05 was rife with glitches and bugs, and an insane tilt toward the defensive side of the ball so much so that it became ridiculous. Id find myself fumbling the football with Priest Holmes 3-4 times in the 4th quarter of a game to to perfect hitstick tackles by the CPU when Im ahead of them, when in reality Priest Holmes has fumbled about 6 times in the 5 seasons he has been with the Chiefs. He just doesnt put the ball on the ground like that, yet even with 99 carry, if the cpu wants the ball back, it will get it.

Madden 06 was pretty much the same thing, except the offense can hit back with a truck stick, and that whole QB vision thing. The whole thing to me feels too arcade like in regard to hitstick and truckstick, but the QB vision was actually pretty sweet.


The rehashed engine is getting annoying. Once they cornered the market, their competetive edge was no longer needed since there no longer is any competition.

I played Sega Sports' ESPN 2k5 for 2 years, and had EA not cornered the market I would probably still be playing the ESPN football titles.

But I get tired of constantly updating rosters, and trying to accurately create all the new players to get into the game. So I guess if I want a current roster and football game, Madden has to be it.

Hopefully they can get it right.
