Well, I don't want to spoil too much, but you get another mortal down the line that is more useful than Cooke and Mack.
However, its good to level up the other characters, only for the fact that there is a bit in the game where you are forced to split up with your party, and if you're really low-levels, you could be in trouble.  Kaim and Seth are the only ones you need in the front as well. | |

I've heard of a place to grind called Numara Atoll, so I'll just go there after I've finished this spooky mansion.

Yeah. Numara Atoll is just above....Numara. Its got a beach you can land at.
Although, I suggest not going there until you're around level 50. There is a big crab-like creature there that can demolish you otherwise. You could basically just go through the game normally and then level up at the Temple of Enlightenment. That's a good place later in the game. I like going to Numara Atoll for skill-leveling up though. | |

I can not stress enough, the importance of levelling, Cooke, Mack and Jansen as much as possible before heading into Ghotza.
If you don't believe me, then I suspect you'll be receiving alot of game over screens. As for the better mortal... it would be Tolten! =] I love him. I just want to pet his golden locks. ------------------- | |

Leveling is easy than I thought it would be - why I thought it would be difficult/annoying in the first place I don't quite know, but whatever.
In most dungeons you gain a level per random encounter so it's just a matter of switching my mages around every so often. Fav team atm has to be: Kaim-Seth-Jansen-Sarah-Cooke. I've just got to Experimental Staff and my characters are all level 26-28. ------------------- | |

I recently started playing this game and right now I am in Ghotza. I do need to go train a bit more though. My characters are at level 32-33 at the moment.
Great storyline so far, but I have some things I don't like about the game, which lie mostly in the battle system. ------------------- | |

I just got to Gohtza too. =D.
My characters are level 30-32 though (Mack is 29) so I'mma train a bit before going further. CBA for the stealing monkeys though so might go to the Atoll. ------------------- | |

Let the monkeys steal a certain item from you, which you'll find in a chest in the glacier, and then you can go and fight their boss and get a really good accessory from the victory! =]

Couldn't be bothered for any training.
My characters have dealt with all the battles so far fine so I'm assuming I'm around the average level. I also bought 11 Warm Vest's by accident. This game wasn't made with SD TV's in mind. ------------------- | |

I only trained a bit haha. I wanted to move on with the story. I just grouped up wih Seth, Ming and Jansen again after Cooke and Mack took off in the train.

Well the level cap at Ice Canyon was 31.
...Or at least my characters stopped gaining exp after that level anyways. I'll play the train fiasco tomorrow. ------------------- | |

Haha! Yes, I know the pain of part of the game screen being off the side of the television. I hate it. =[ I want to see everything. In actual fact, I couldn't see one of the Seed locations due to this... =[

Are you talking about the Seed in the sewers when you've got Seth, Sed, and Tolten? Because I think that was deliberate.
I would really like to upgrade my television to high-def. Unfortunately, I don't have the money. Would a TV with a Red-Blue-Green input improve the quality of the image any, or would I have to go completely high-def? -------------------

I only got a cheap 32' for £270 but in fairness it does the trick.. I don't mind the odd line *bleep*ed up now and then..
I'm just near the end of disc 1, really annoying me in that forest ¬¬ Did people just get randomly lost in what to do next in this game as it has happened to me twice already ;_; ------------------- | |
