Lvling up

ok i seem to be way under lvled for anything i try to do atm...

i'm lvl 46 on most of my immortals and lvl 44 on the mortals, thing is i just got the white boa on disk 4,

i've tried lvling in temple of enlightenment but i die once every 2-3 fights making it hard to get back n save after every other fight,

i've tried the forgotten cave, but that boss dessimates me, even though the walkthroughs i read say he's easy,

i've also tried the snowfeilds n getting to the boss is easy, but he just wipes me out in 3-4 turns even though i use 4 immortals in my party

any advise ould b appeciated

re: Lvling up

Are your immortals properly equipped? Like, do they have skills and accessories that level up their HP/MP while boosting their other stats? Just curious because level 46 for that part of the game sounds pretty good.

The mortal characters are rather unimportant, so don't worry about their levels.

re: Lvling up

Okay, first off; Kaim and Seth should ALWAYS be in the front row. Just those two. Atleast, that's my setup. You can sometimes throw in a mortal up front, but there really isnt a need as those two immortals can be powered up much more. This is the setup you should have:

Kaim - Seth
Sarah - [Mortal] - Ming

The mortal doesn't really matter, to be honest. I like Sed, but Tolten works as well. Both can deal out a decent amount of damage. Mack and Cook are almost useless, but Jansen is an option as well. I just like throwing that third physical attacker in there instead of having three magic users in the back row.

I'll have to check out how my immortals are set up, but you should have Kaim/Sarah/Seth/Ming learn the "Skill +5" technique from Sed (I believe he has it), as it offers up more spaces to power them up with skills.

Any kind of counter/absorb skills are great, so you're doing okay there. Do you have the "Absorb elements" type techniques learned from certain accessories you gain the battlefield? Those help a lot.

re: Lvling up

ATM the only one that has any absorb anything is Sarah, because i defeated Persona to get her notebook ,

what lvl does sed give the skill +5 technique... i almost never use him so he's back at lvl 39 while everyone is now breaking lvl 50

and about using tolten in the front row... his health is way past what Seths is because he has a health +4 amulet

right now i'm just grinding around in the temple of enlightenment... gaining 4 lvls n getting game overs driving me up the wall.... i don't like all this running in circles

Kaim is now lvl 51 (had him lvl 56 3 times so far...) just gonna take it a little slower i guess...

re: Lvling up

I take it back. It isn't Sed who learns those abilities. It's actually found in accessories.

I think you might have already missed out on the "Skill +3"
accessory, but the "Skill +5" one can be had by going to Uhra and speaking to the soldier at the front gate after getting the Nautilus. He'll ask you to deliver a letter to someone near the castle. And then the "Skill +10" is found by beating the Holy Beast at Numara Atoll.

The "Nullify All Elements", another useful one, can be gotten by releasing the Royal Seal using Tolton in the Keleon village. And then "HP Max Up 4", another great one, is found after releasing the Royal Seal in the Crimson Forest.

EDIT: Oh wait, so you have the "HP Max Up 4" already? Have your immortals equip it so they learn the ability to their skills.

re: Lvling up

yes tolten has both the nullify all elements and the hp +4, i've been grabbing the seals that i c as i'm running around,

i also have MP +4 i got from defeating the kelolon king

.. that skill +10 , does it allow another 10 slots, no matter how many slot seeds have been used on that character?? or does it bing it up to a Maximum of 10 slots
that's a huge difference on some of my guys that already have 8 slots

and about numara atoll , i have the white boa, i've went back to numara after recieving the harp, butmy world map never shows a place named Numara Atoll for me to head to.. it's been bugging me just for the fact that it seemed like a quick battle

re: Lvling up

Equip the "Nullify All Elements" and "HP +4" to your Immortals ASAP. They need to learn that, especially Kaim and Seth, since you want them up front most of the time.

MP +4 is good for Sarah and Ming, but don't bother having Kaim and Seth learn it, unless you are going for the achievement where the Immortals learn every technique possible. You wont bother with magic spells when it comes to Kaim and Seth. They will just do physical attacks over and over again.

And the "Slots +10" adds 10 more slots to your characters, so its great. I actually never bothered using many slot seeds for my Immortals. Probably only used around 3 or 4 on my Immortal people because of the Skill slot additions using the accessory.

Numara Atoll is located a little North of Numara. Pretty easy to find. Just go North and you'll pass a little beach that you can land at.

re: Lvling up

lol by the time i came back and saw your post, i found numara atoll and currently have seth learning skill +10, so i found the answer to my own ? when i put it on lol it's great i also have kaim learning the nullify all and hp +4

ok i got my immortals to lvl 74, then decided to give the temple of enlightenment a try.... only thing is i've noticed (after 2 hours of fighting the boss without either of us dieing...) tha i need higher lvl black and white spells... does this mean i have to lvl up jansen and coock to gain acess to these spells???
exaple... i don't have any spells with us at the end ( healus,shadowus,groundus... n so on) i think i'm screwed and i need to go lvl them b4 i try tis again because all that's happenning is i'm healing myself and that darn mob the boss summons is sacrificing himself over n over making this an impossible fight

re: Lvling up

Jansen and Cooke learn their level 7 and 8 black/white spells at levels 43 and 49, so if they aren't that high, you should probably battle a bit to get them stronger. That, or you could use accessories that give you the higher level magic abilities. For example; The level 8 black-white magic accessory is the master earrings, and they are found in front of the Sorceress' mansion using the sunderch glasses.

Make sure everyone is atleast level 50 before going through the Temple of Enlightenment. Oh, and battle the Hellish Keleons to level up. Just stay JUST INSIDE the temple and run around. Those enemies level your characters up every single time until you reach level 94 or so.

re: Lvling up

It might suck, but if you've not done alot of equipment learning and skill linking early on, later on you'll pay for it, e.g. stick around an area you've finished the story in to get SP for every Immortal to learn accessories, that way you can get them lots of nice skills which might come in handy.

For those that don't know, I just thought it would be worth pointing out that the immortals can't do this until they've learnt 'Royal Accessory' from Tolten. Or least, I'm pretty sure they can't.
