RPGamer.com: quoteSquare Enix's Front Mission 5: Scars of the War, which recently had a Japanese release date announced, has now been confirmed, courtesy of GameSpot, for a North American release as well. The PlayStation 2 title joins Front Mission 3 and Front Mission 4 as the only games in the mecha strategy RPG series to cross the Pacific Ocean to North America.
Front Mission 5: Scars of the War tells the story of Walter Fenn, a pilot in the military of the United States of the New Continent (USN), a super-state consisting of most of the North and South American continents. The USN has often found itself in conflicts with the other nations of the Front Mission world, including the Republic of Zaftra, the OCU, and the European Commonwealth. These conflicts typically play out in giant-sized robots, called Wanzers, which are operated by human pilots. Walter has a scar across his face from a childhood incident, and his Commanding Officer is named Lin Wainwright.
The game will ship in Japan on December 22, with a North American release pegged at March 1 2006. More info to come. The RPG Info Man strikes again
