Is there a way to prevent robories without bying an alarm becuz i cant ever get to the fone in time since sims take a long time to wake up.

It's impossible to prevent a robbery(unless you move everything inside every night and remove all your doors), but if your sims can't wake up in time to get to the phone there is a way you can slow the robber down.

As soon as the burglar steps on your lot, build and buy mode shut off. But once he starts to run for it, they are available again. Here is what I do if I haven't got an alarm and I get a burglar:

As soon as you see the little picture in the corner, pause the game. Wake up the most active sim in the house, and send them to the nearest phone. Now unpause and watch where the burglar goes. He'll probably swipe about three items and then start to run. As soon as he makes a run for it pause the game. Now go to build or buy mode and block him in using items you have round your house. Kitchen counters are good for this, so are sofas, anything big and bulky. Build a little wall around him.

By now your sim has hopefully got through to the police and they are on their way. As soon as the police officer gets close to the robber you have to take away a section of his wall so she can arrest him. This is where it can go a bit horribly wrong, as sometimes the burglar tries to run away again, and sometimes the police woman thinks she can't get to the robber because you didn't take the wall away in time, so she gives up and leaves. Hopefully, she arrests him and you get some money back from your insurance company.

The robber can only be trapped for approximately four hours before he'll be beamed away, so if you can't get to the phone in that time there is nothing you can do.

maybe you should just buy an alarm!

Its a bit stupid not wanting to buy a burgalar alarm. Maybe you could do this:

Put a wall on all the entrances on the lot and put a burgalar alarm on each. So when it appears again it will be a sure catch!

Well, I rather put them near the front and back doors as putting them near the entrances is kinda like cheating and some lots have multiple entrances. It also looks un-natural.

But sometimes if you have the objects the burglar wants 2 steal, he'll bein the hosue, and out with the object b4 the police can come, its happened, and i nvr go the insurance. then the cop came after, and told us not to call if there wasnt a emergency

yes sims take such a long time to wake up and get to the phone its so anoying.

why dont u just buy the burglar alarm, you dunder-head! its the obvious way to avoid burglars, DUH!

Just buy the alarm. It makes everything SO much easier.

Building a fence around the property will divert burglars from entering your lot.
That, PLUS, buying the alarm's that you will attach to all four corners of your house; will essentially stop him/her in their tracks.

When I do either of these options together or even separate my Sims are NEVER burglarized! Been playing for years, trust me it works!
