re: Arcatera a buggy game?

Don't know about Alinda. Remember when the guy was in the hotel room, well...this time Ellena showed up there. I think it was because I kept ignoring her elsewhere and the game decided to make me talk to her.

I've been quick saving before checking to see if the scepter was still in the abandoned house. I'm now at 6 Haas and it's still there. So I just restore and go on. I'm going to see if it's there at the very last.

OH, I forgot to mention, one time when the executions started, I was able to give gold to Ive as he stood up on the platform with the big wheel of fortune. With the cursor available, I thought it would be possible to give the scepter to the Prince while everyone witnessed it. Since then, the cursor has never been abailable. GO FIGURE!

re: Arcatera a buggy game?

Something new happened. something I never heard or saw before in the game.

In the abandonned house in Eastwart, right next to the pub. I entered with my team in the kitchen and at about 1 foot above the floor, I saw a black rope tight across the door leading to the small room where the big wooden box is.

When I pointed at the rope, Woolenar say something like "It's a rope that is not very apparent but who put it there. Was it intentional ?". Then I enter that small room and automatically the whole team rushed outside and we could hear a big crash sound, as if the building would collapse. I went back in the kitchen and nothing seem to have change ??? Did you ever had something like that ?

Yes, one time my party experienced the crashing sound, but I didn't notice any rope. Maybe the party unknowingly set off a trap. I think I'll check that out again just for kicks.

re: Arcatera a buggy game?

I forgot to mention. After Lizza joined my team, I was wondering if the other characters will see my team as a black sun's supporter. John Ramekin already told me to stay away from those pointed ears... I also noticed that nobody seem to have anything to tell me, all the dialogue boxe are empty most of the time.

I'm not sure yet, but an afternoon where Lizza was walking in Midtown with the monk, I was seeing on the screen the shadow of someone (I don't know who) as if someone was following them (or may be it was just a bug from the game...)

Did you experience that also.

When Ellena visited you in your hotel room in Westham, what did she tell you exactly ?

re: Arcatera a buggy game?

Ellena didn't tell much, it was pretty much based on what I could ask her had it been outside somewhere.

I had an experience awhile back where it was actually a shadow from someone else in a previous screen. You can be pretty certain it's mearly a bug.

On occassion, the green thief in the adventure's club will say the thieves bought the scepter from Roun, after you ask him about the stollen scepter. The strange thing is, no one had yet told me about the scepter being given to Roun, as shown in the small movie.

On some instances, only Josien can get an audience with the Prince. If anyone else trys, the guard will open the gate, but no one takes another step.

more later;
cheers:confused:

Hey... I want to ask a somehow silly question... I've just started Arcatera and the characters textures when they move are full of stupid pixels. Is anything wrong???

Nothing wrong, that's all the time the programmer had. Westka only allowed a certain amount to devote to the game.

re: Arcatera a buggy game?

I don't think so. If you want to play with the thief you have to start the game with him.
So far, in my experience, the most important are the fighter, the magicien and the monk
(as long as he has the "patience magic spell"). Plus, it's better to have only three character
otherwise, you can't hire Uthor for instance.

re: Arcatera a buggy game?

The ONLY way to get the Thief is to start out with him. Right now, you have a very good group. The Fighter is necessary to find level 2 secret paths in the forest, with the help of someone else (by using the group search; the little spyglass icon at bottom of game screen.)

re: Arcatera a buggy game?

I finally found the scepter and this time, not in the abandonned house in Midtown. As you might know,
I redid part of the game without Lizza because I wasn't going anywhere with her: nobody wanted to
talk to me or they had nothing to tell me. So I redid the game just right after I gave back Elvira.
I went in the Kandt Forest to find Roun in the barbarian village. With the help of the "patience magic
spell" of the monk, he finally told me everything: how he got the scepter, who he gave it to, why
he did it... Do you want to know who and where to find them ? Or you prefer to try to find it by
yourself ?

Anyway, I gave the scepter to the prince and he became friend with me (I got 93 % of his confidence).
I saved the game just before I gave him the scepter just in case it didn't work so I could try something
else.

By the way, Ellena also came to my room in Westham but as for you, she did not have anything to say
except that she is looking for her mother...

stay tuned...

re: Arcatera a buggy game?

I asked the thief (the one you can buy Midtown papers from), about the scepter and he said the thieves bought it from Roun. No one had yet told me about the suspect heading for the forest (where a cut-scene showed the transaction.)

So if the thieves have it, which one and how to get it? Is it necessary, do you think, to get Roun to admit it?

re: Arcatera a buggy game?

You're right. It's the thiefs of the forest who have the scepter. I would think it is necessary to have Roun
admitting He gave it to them. When I met him, I used the patience magic spell of the monk. He then told
me that the Black sun paid him quite good to bring the scepter in the forest and give it to the large
robber gang in the forest. They ask him so because he knows where they are hanging around (but I
couldn't ask him where). But I remembered that once Sonia said that she was told to be aware of
the robbers in the forest when she would go to the tranquil place to get the "misseltoe". So after
running around and killing all the robbers I encountered I thought of going to the tranquil place. I got
there and they were all there, about 8 ou 10 green robbers and a few half breeds. As soon as I saw them
I saved the game and try to talk to them but they would start fighting and would disappear. So I redid
this part of the game twice and I managed to kill a few before they disappeared and among them, one
had the scepter.

I thing this game has to be done with a certain chronology. For example, I killed the dragon and got his
treasure on the 28 Gargaryn but Woolenar is still talking as if I didn't. So probably I did it too soon. I
should have done it only after the different characters talked to me about the basilisk...

Now what I am suppose to do ? I'm on the 12 of Hass. Should I look for Rog's treasure ? Try to
eliminate Halh Ganon...

re: Arcatera a buggy game?

After exposing Hahl on a special night at the Al Duma Magna Inn, he sometimes shows up at the Eternally Tranquil place the very next day. Whenever you do see him, he runs away the first 2 times you try to fight him. The third time you see him at the tranquil place, you can get a lot of info from him before fighting and finally destroying him. This seems to only get you a couple more points in eliminating the black sun. I noticed that if you destroy Lisza and Zadax before him, you never see him at all in the forest and if you tell anyone about his identity or harm the other two too early, you never see him at the Al Duma Magna.

Anyhow, all this has a bearing on whether or not Rog is rescued from execution when Hahl unites with the robbers, thieves and whatever.

I registered and tried to edit the previous post, but dummy me, I used extra digits for the password. So this is under my registered account, which is free and all you need is an email address. Maybe you should get one (lycos, yahoo, hotmail, or whatever you prefer. They're free also.)

So now this paragraph is an edit just to see if it really works. A strange thing happens if you stand atop the tower in Westham while the executions take place. You and your party are also on trial and at least one of you gets executed!
