you dont need much defense for him >.< in this quest you dont get kiked alot, just concentrate on weapon, and really you cant get any dragon one?

Lol now way in hell ur gonna do it with corona i can hardly kill it with blue ogre sword u need a hammer man just do teh village lao till u can get dragon breaker u can repel it with that nothing esle really to it its just no way a fire SnS is gonna do anything to him

For this quest I would reccommend you for SnS:
Blazing Falchion
Choose one of the front legs of the Lao, and slice at it all the time, and every few minutes you'll find that he falls to the ground, there jump and slice at it's head until it gets up. And repeat the tactic until you reach the fortress. Then use the dragonator, and after that jump down and just slash at it's belly, and I'm SURE that'll do the job.

If you prefer a GS:
The Rathalos Firesword would do the job
This time just bash at it's head and in the fortress at it's belly. A good weapon a would also suggest would be the Judgement (I repelled it with that EASILY my first time)

Look theres no way in hell ur gonna do it wiht a blazing falchion. Were talking about teh HR2 lao not the village one and hittings its legs is like the worst thing u can do with an SnS for this quest unfortunatelly ur gonna need a hammer or atleast etern strife nothing less dont even bother using fire unless its Gradius Ultimus even then u could only just repel it because this lao will hit the fortress a multitude amount of times. Once for me it hit the fortress 5 times in a row

why ure so mad about hammers... lance is a good weapon for this quest... when I posted how to repel him few months ago most people told me to use SNS, anyway try to get some dragon weapon if you can

I hate hammers i just know in some quests their a requirement and lao is one of them. Hammer dish out the most damage witht heir triple pound and ona slow moving thing like a lao u can dish out alot of damage its just the easiest way to beat him

i have obelion thats a good dra weapon (816 attk with 180 dra)ill try to get the hammer i only need 2 sm-lao claws for it(ive killed village chief 1 twice)

i posted right after i did this:I KILLED CHIEF LOA WITH CORNA AND MONOBLOS AND LOS ARMOR IN 33MIN WITH NO PILLS OR DEMONDRUG!!!!i didnt get what i needed in the reward but i wanna no if i take abuot 5 bb+ mega demondrug and corna u think that would work cause i killed the 50min chief in 33min and the guild one is 35 min:confused:

MH3 I don't really understand you... or you're an extremely poor player at this game, or you really want to make sure that you beat every quest with the best weapon and without fail. Well let me tell you that I've beaten that quest withe the blazing falchion about a zillion times without any problem. And if you use a hammer it'll be much harder to obtain LaoS Horn in the rewards...

Use Obelion if you have it, lao is weak against Fire and Dragon, use brute strength aswells, also its weak spot is it Belly, although making him flinch in the head a couple of time so his horn breaks can't go amiss, because then you have a chance to actually get the horn.

i used obelion like 50 times on chief lao and lost every time.as for slashing at the belly(thats how i beat him in 33min with corna on chief lao)when he flinches he smashses u and i always get killed by his tail

im tryin again with corna and blos and rath armor and i dont think the belly thing works cause his tail kiks my ass when i cant slash his belly anymore and he barely ever flinches when i slash his head it takes me seconds to break his horn:#

You should be aware that people have been in your circumstances a loooong time ago, so this is really nothing new.

Gradios Ultimus will do you fine for this quest. Bring along all the Large Barrel Bomb+ and the materials you can get to make them. Hit the dragonator on the 11th step.
