Did the Makers care about the game?

It makes be sorry to say this,as this was the first forum I ever posted in, but this game is dead and buried.

The reason so many were posting here was that there were so many bugs, it was poorly made, and bringing out no patches showed that the company that made it realy had no respect for the gamers, it's just another of those crappy 'film to game' spin offs purly to make money and gradualy none wants to bother with it anymore.

the ideas were good, pity the makers didnt realy bother.

re: Did the Makers care about the game?

hehehe, ya'er right about zat! maybe they noticed that some gamers had been making lots of MODS and FIXES so they never bothered to make a patch, or maybe they just dont want to spend money to pay for programers to fix it. The game has already been bought anyway so its not their problem anymore.. but ours, such a selfish thing to do really. yup you're defnitly right!!! THEY DONT CARE!!!

Actually this started off as Seadogs 2, a sequel to Seadogs (surprise, surprise) but they decided that it would sell more if it was linked with the movie. This change was made fairly late in development and it shows. I would have preferred a sequel to original Seadogs (without fighting skeletons and ghost ships).

re: Did the Makers care about the game?

what happened was something like this......

Bethesda Softworks are a great new company, all their games have amazing graphics and story lines that are set however there are hundreds of mini quests, side quests and trip-ups on the way. the elder scrolls games are coming on a treat and they made a recent release "sea dogs".
now as we know bethesda likes some free money. Disney comes and says "look, if you put some completely unrelated part of a storyline in the game, change the name, put a cool ghost ship in it and release it way too early so it has hundreds of bugs it will sell more and we will give you some money....deal?"
naturally Bethesda says "yes of course" so present pirates of the Caribbean.

lets see what could have happened and what has happened so pirates of the Caribbean/sea dogs 2?

POTC: great graphics, decent story line but gets very confusing, as many bugs as i have teddy bears (a lot), mnot enough side-quests but a fun and addicting game, released nice 'n early.

SD2: amazing graphics, great story line which all gets tied up at the end, addicting and a lot of quests and things to keep you occupied, not many bugs if any, a fun game that can be enjoyed by a lot of different people and many different ways to play and enjoy the game.

see the difference? that is probably what happened

re: Did the Makers care about the game?

True that lacdad.
Anyway, this game has great potential and 1-2 patches should do the trick. The PC version has some bugs that could be fixed (the NIgel Blythe quest). Some new quests and items, more skills and islands, treasures, secrets and so on.
I also heard there are some "hidden quests" in this game that appear only when certain conditions are fulfilled, soooo it's not a "stupid" game made in a hurry. If you will take a look in the game folder at the dialogs you should see some notepad files with dialog lines that do not appear in the game.Something about a gold caravan heist and another thing. Also i think the French quests should be exploited.
You only have the girl and sink the frigate quests and then "our countries are at war monsieur" bla bla ....
I played the moded version a little.Nice touch but crashes often.Too bad...

I would LOVE a remade POTC
