I have noticed that mew levels up fast and his stats are equal to my chrmander who is level 31 and my mew is only level 20.

Many people mistaken this for the secret of getting Mew, but this is not true and believe me!

There is a thread in here that tells you how to get Mew and it isn't the truck.

Mew is a powerful pokemon on Pokemon Stadium 2 it shows how his stats are his isn't better than Mewtwos.

Alrighty, this is the great secret of catching a Mew.

Pokemon & Equipment
1. A Pokemon w/ an Abnormal Status ability. (Around Lv. 15)
2. Many Ultra Balls
3. A Pokemon w/ Great defense. (Mew is not really that strong, but will take a while to capture. Make sure that you have a Pokemon to protect with)
4. FLYing ability Pokemon

Make Sure
1. That you do not battle the Trainer w/ the Slowpoke on the Road between the Nugget Bridge and Bill's House.
2. That you do not battle the Gambler near the door of the Underground to get to the Celadon City.

Walkthrough
1. (THIS IS THE HARDEST PART AND DON'T BE DISCOURAGED IF YOU FAIL THE FIRST TIME)
Walk to the Gambler indicated above and immediately Press the Start button just before he sees you.
2. Fly w/ your Pokemon to Cerulean City just before he walks up to you.
3. Walk (Don't ride the bicycle) to the Trainer w/ the Slowpoke (JuniorTrainer, I believe), challenging him to a fight. [Make sure that the Triner walk up to you at least one step. If not, the game will freeze up)
4. Beat that guy in a Pokemon Battle.
5. Fly to Lavender Town.
6. Go left, where the short road will take you to the Underground Thingy.
7. Start Button will be immediately activated, press B button.
8. There you go, a Wild Mew!

Another easy way to get Mew with what he said use a great ball or Ultra and when the ball explodes for the pokemon to go inside press B and hold B and when it rolls for the second time release the B button and you should catch Mew just like that and you just need too make it fall asleep and no need for attacking either I did it today.

Uh... Mew really ISN'T more powerful. PS- Why the heck did you compare a legendary Pokemon to a level 31 Charmander? Why the heck did you not evolve it, anyway?

Mew is more powerful than a Charmander.

i know that this cheat is true, but when you think about it, who in their right mind would spend countless hours just messing around with their gameboy. someone was just sitting at home and said " hey i think ill do this and this in a sequence and maybe ill get mew", the probably had A LOOOOOT of time on their hands

Yes, I tried to use it one time and it works.

Hey, it took me about 3 Great Balls and 5 Ultra Balls to capture a Mew (Asleep w/ 1 HP)!

I think it's Charmeleon.

I don't think he eveolved his Charmeleon.
