HAVING A HARD TIME DEFEATING DIRNA |
|
It seems to me that Dirna is far stronger than Ethereal Queen. Any of you know how to beat her the easiest and quickest way, again without cheating. I'm talking about LEVEL 99 Dirna.

Well stick with the party from the battle with Ethereal Queen, but don't worry about transfer resistance. Make sure Brahms doesn't have the Conqueror's Armor equipped or he'll be toast in no time. Reflect Armor is preferred for everyone that can equip heavy armor.
At least two characters should have Ham-Stars (especially the one who will tank). Also make sure that your tank has the Tri-Emblem equipped, because it will negate all damage from Dirna's Soul Crush. (High Fire Resistance is recommended for all characters). What makes Dirna difficult is that her and the demishadows have the ability to use magic/attacks of all elements. Reflect Armor and Tri-Emblem will take care of elemental damage for at least one of your characters (and reduce damage a good bit for the other one). Otherwise, focus your attacks on the demishadows (one at a time) and then take on Dirna. I actually highly recommend the use of the Observation skill instead of any direct stat boosting skills (Fists of Iron, etc.) if you can make it fit with the particular character. Brahms would be a decent choice as far as dealing damage is concerned, but he's also the most likely to die during the battle due to his poor elemental resistances. As a result, I'd suggest you equip Observation on your tank. If that tank happens to be one of the girls (Hrist, Valkyrie, Alicia, Lenneth), then you may have to get rid of Toughness to make room (Observation + Psychosoma is 8 CP). If you do use one of them, then make sure they have high resistance to fire and lightning. (I'd say aim for 40% on lightning and fire should definitely be 100%). Also, that character should have at least 18000 HP as a base if you aren't using Toughness to take care of damage from physical attacks as well. -------------------

Its also hard to get a DA on her becase of the shadows, which tend to block the path to her. Since the DA bar for her drains pretty quickly, you have to 'jump' to her as quickly as possible, but dodge her clones as much as possible, since although they aren't such a worry attack wise they do waste a lot of time.
Getting DAs on Dirna is a lot harder than a lot of the other bosses, even without the armor/ breakable the Ethereal Queen wears. ------------------- Mr Art thread Excitement!

if you have released some of your einjeiars, try pumping up brahms and another character(i recommend alicia) if you have an archer and you got sylvan bow the better (constant damage of up to 2k per hit ) if your archer is lvl 99
sylvan bow == dmg => lvl of char x 20 if your lvl is high enuf and you want to try ur luck you can cast tome of alchemy to the shadows and luckily they will turn to crystals(yey!) and its you and dirna 1 vs 4 hehe but of course its not a guarantee every time so try and try until you make exp's out of them ^.^ also a tip make use of your sealstones like sheathed sword wrath..masochist law..rust wrath..etc..and trade law equip those sealstones the reduce your stats then have the trade law on the dais so that you'd exchange sealstone abilities

re: HAVING A HARD TIME DEFEATING DIRNA |

After a few attempts trying to figure out how to defeat dirna, I've finally came up with a best strategy which depends on luck. By equipping offensive equipments and accessories, dirna's hp drains quickly. I use freya, lenneth and hrist as the main attacker and rufus as the tank. Sealstones that I hold have these following effects:
ATTACK 150% RDM 1/2 ATTACK 150% NO HP RECOVERY PROJECTILE ATTACK 200% MOVEMENT SPEED REDUCED ALL STATUS UP Equip everyone with the skill magician slayer. When the fight begins, make one of your characters (preferably rufus) with the skill free item use might potion to one of the attackers (I used it on freya). Keep attacking her from behind to deal twice as much damage as normal. Use charge break when needed. I thanked dhamon for using tome of alchemy on the shadows which I haven't try it though, haha. I agree with Torebaa. Getting a DA on dirna is tougher than other bosses in SG.

That's a really risky strategy. I like to stick with dragging the battles out as long as I can for the fights against Freya, EQ, and Dirna.

I'm working on an almost fool-proof Dirna strategy, but I can clarify one thing: Yes, the Tome of Alchemy DOES work on Dirna's shadows. Just one problem. It IS also dependant upon your level. So if you want to get all 3 with one shot, make sure your party is maxed out, or are very high level.
Just as a sketch, here is the party I'm currently developing a strategy for: Freya Brahms Hrist Valkyrie I'll keep you guys posted very soon.

That's good to hear, because I am working on one as well (as well as one for EQ). Let's see what we can come up with and we can critique each other to find the best possible setups.

it not always a guarantee though coz i've got my party at lvl 99 and dirna is lvl 99 while the shadows are lvl 65 sumthing..anyways it would be very nice if you could get them in 1 shot since ToA is very rare in the game..
DIRNA-proof party..that would be nice ^.^...

re: HAVING A HARD TIME DEFEATING DIRNA |

Hey guys, how to DA Dirna anyway? I've tried experimenting various equipments and my party are Dylan, Hrist, Lenneth and Freya. I used Dylan because he can deals damage around 300000 to female bosses a hit with 1 White Loincloth and 3 Power bangles equipped. The battle was always easy and I'm on my 4th SG run, but I can't seem to DA her. Do I have to farm Golden Eggs? Help...

Some more research on the subject.
Dirna is Divine and Magician, but for whatever reason, Magician Slayer works far better than God Destroyer. My strategy, is not quite ready yet, due to life issues, but I'll have it soon. And yes, to confirm, Tome of Alchemy does work, but I have my party levelled up to max. I wil be posting how I've levelled them all up, and that's through the Tower of Lezard Valeth. ------------------- Just remember. One who conquers others is mighty. no offense but reading others strategies makes me laugh. i thought my strategy was weak guess it was the best.
on my first run, i hunted for a decent quantity of soothsayer bows, tyrfing, and the armors that you can get from the mini bosses. my sealstones are: Sharp Sword Law Sword Blessing Desperate Soldier Law Yggdrasil Blessing (restored it on my first SG run) as you can see everything boosts atk pow right? my characters are: Freya Dylan Falx Rufus I will only cite the Weapons and Accessories that i used since armors are of no use in this kind of strategy. Freya, All green runes equip that boosts atk and SC dmg Skills: Triple Edge, Magician Slayer, Fist of Iron Attacks : Victory Sword, Heavenly Punishment Falx 1 HP, 3 power bangles, dragon rib Weapon : tyrfing Skills: magician slayer, fist of iron, god destroyers Attacks : Dreaded Radius Dylan 1 HP : dragon rib, stone cutting pincers, great eagle heart and a green rune for boosting SC damage. Weapon : Tyrfing Skills : magician slayer, fist of iron, free item, true seeing Attacks : Full Swing Rufus : green rune acc that boosts atk and SC damage Weapon : Soothsayer Bow Skills : Triple edge, fist of iron, spirit control Attacks : Killing Thorn, Thunder Fall, Aiming Wisp Its up to you to make up the combo. Its also a matter of chance if u see an opening to dash in between the demishadows to get to dirna back. then the combo ( if u find out ) after that free item with dylan use charge break. and oh yeah a matter of chance again wish she wont use explosion

What's exactly so special about your setup? Your strategy is stupidly risky and it's not like the payoff is significantly greater than any other.
GG man, really. -------------------

it looks like you might dish out a decent amount of damage but based on what equipment and sealstones you have equipped it looks like just a few explosions is all it would take to knock you out.
