is this a 2player game? if it is do u reckon its a game i should play with my girlfriend cos we are lookin for one to play together (not my choice btw)

All you can do is divide the party up into teams during battle so that Player One controls X # of characters and Player Two controls X # of characters.

But according to the manual, player 2 can only press the buttons, they can't move the characters.. >_> (don't quote me that, I could have misread).

Which surely renders the 2nd player option pointless? To me, it just seems like they added that on there so that its still technically a multiplayer game. xD

Yeah Player One moves around the battlefield and Player Two only hits buttons. Utterly useless.
