who here have seen it and what did you think of it?

This movie was really, really good. Although, they did leave out quite a bit of stuff that's important in Eldest, but not in Eragon, which makes me think Stefen didn't read Eldest before making this. Examples: Orik, key words in Angela's prophecy, Eragon's scar, Oromis's message...etc. On it's own, though, it's pretty sweet.

They won't make Eldest. I was highly dissapointed when I saw it. The death of the Ra'zac, Orik, Angela, the actual death of the shade, the breaking of Isadar Mithrim, and the lack of introduction to the village. It needed an epic, like LotR, to make it worth its while - it does no justice to the brilliant literacy of Paolini, but the film on its own is good - a nice Fantasy film for the family, but having read the book, it was completely bad.

they spent most of their budget on the special effects and probably didnt have enough left to copy to book in detail. i was suprised at how long it was despite the countless missing chapters.

i would loove to reply but i havent been able to see it. I want to but it doesnt look that good? i dont no maybe ill just wait til it comes on DVD and ill rent it

I didn't even see it. When I saw that they had already gotten the elf girl (I can't remember her name dammit) travelling with Brom, I was pissed considering he was already dead. And I saw a Broms Death scene. Completely screwed over how sad his death really was.

I don't think I'll bother ruining the vision I have of the awesome book with this movie. If you've never read the book, it looks like it would be great, but having read it, I'm just angry.

i think the movie was brilliant but i have to say that they missed out all of the bits that i really wanted to see and the bits i class as good bits from the book! shame really!
