I think a thread could be made sticky with the seperate versions of the PS3's that are out.

You tend to find a lot of duplicate threads regarding backwards compatibility and questions on the 20GB, 40GB, 60GB & 80GB.

So would it be possible to have one? may stop all those multiple threads which ask the same question all the time.

That's certainly a fantastic idea.

We can't have a sticky for every minor question that comes up now. Eventually we will have nothing but stickies. However if you would like to create a thread with the pertanient information in a convient layout then I will certainly consider it. If nothing else it will be added to the index and we can direct them to it.

Well, I was refering to Jack Bergin's suggestion about an Ipod sticky in the previous thread and now this one. I'm fine with information threads. But if every topic that came up on a regular basis was stickied there wouldn't be much room left for anything else.

Yeah, I agree that there shouldn't be too many information threads. There should be as few as possible. I think that this idea is more worthy of a sticky than mine, it being directly related to the PS3.

As for the Ipod suggestion. How about we just pick the most informative thread out of the 6 or 7 threads that Jack linked to and make that the official Ipod thread?

Perhaps someone could salvage the best bits of information from each thread? I'd happily do it, but I'm hardly an expert on the iPod.

Neither am I. Although it doesn't take an expert to spot good advice. I haven't looked at the threads yet but I'll get to it when I get home from work in 2 hours.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but there's a reason people come to a forum; to get an individual human response. If we have a thread for this sort of thing, we're sort of defeating the idea of having a forum where people can ask a question and have it individually answered.

I see what you mean. Like the iPod threads, it's just unnecessary cluttering of the forum. For the very small questions, this is a great idea.
