Wheel, my judgement is we leave things as they are for at least a couple weeks. Then we can implement the drop down. But I'll leave that up to Mnm. If he wants to move ahead with it that's fine. Of course the default setting should be Celes theme since he did win the contest.

quote Celes LeonhartI agree but it's clear to see that not everyone likes the new skin. Like you said some love it and some hate it. As mods it's our job to keep the forum active so when we see a comment like this... quote bergin...we have to take notice. Granted it's only Jack but I'm sure others feel the same but aren't speaking out. So if the skin is putting people off the forum it's our responsibility to do something about it. Like Koloth said you DID win so of course your skin will be the default skin that everyone sees when they first enter the forum. The dropdown menu will just give them the option to change the skin if they want. That way everyone's happy. -------------------

Celes Leonhart, you already won the game didn't you? So whether you force us to have your theme or not isn't going to affect your game isn't it?
I suggest having the standard theme as default, and his theme as an option. I detest the current theme (and being jealous adds to this opinion), and often delete my browser's cookies, so having to switch every time would be a pain in the ass. Every forum with themes involved always has the standard as default. Like Bergin, it does put me off. ------------------- ![]()

re: re: Moderator's Corner |

I'm not forcing anybody to do anything. Don't be so aggressive or bitter towards me, whatever it is; I understand you might have wanted the game/win but there's nothing to be gained from being a sore loser. I simply said it devalues the point of a competition, which was always going to have conflict in preference as it's entirely opinion based. Quality is subjective, at least in this case.
Furthermore, I'm not just here to win a game - believe it or not - I'm interested in the forum too, and and should equally be allowed to offer feedback where it's applicable. I wouldn't be offering to do the drop-down box for the forum if I only intended to be off in a whistle when I got the game. quote MnmfanI didn't mean for just my theme to be prioritised (otherwise I wouldn't have suggested the drop-down box), I was moreso meaning that I don't think the drop-down box should have every theme entered (which, again, devalues the point of a competition) - only Neo's default and my own. Braden's got the idea. However, once again: your judgement, not mine. ------------------- ![]() Now check it, check it out, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, that's what he said

Which is my opinion, seeing as it is coming from me. Obviously it wasn't an order. Just imagine there's a big IMO after the whole post, so that it won't bother you.

Perhaps it's the way you stated it that came across the way it did to Braden.

The theme is great, it's just after I've clicked on a thread before, and it appears a different colour, it's too light for me to read.
quote Celes LeonhartBraden's not the sore loser type, no matter how much he annoys me, you're the one who is being bitter and aggressive! Nice theme BTW -------------------

I'm bitter that I won the competition? Makes sense. =/
I think calling someone a sore loser is completely justified when they have said, on more than one occasion, something along the lines of "I don't like it(mainly because I'm jealous), it needs to be put as a selection or something." Regardless of that, I have absolutely no issue with Braden whatsoever; I just didn't think it was fair to approach the situation with that mentality. I completely understand that not everyone will like the theme. On a better note, I appreciate the good feedback. In regards to the criticism, how can you not see white text (links already been clicked) against a black/gray back-drop? ------------------- ![]() Now check it, check it out, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, that's what he said

I clicked on the Playstation Network sub-forum once, and now it's hard to see, happens occassionally with other links as well, but it's not a big deal, just something I thought I'd bring up.
Regarding to your Braden is jealous staement, when once did he ever say he was jealous of your win? Maybe he just finds the theme bad and realises some others do as well, and would like to find one we all like. I can't see it because sometimes only the colour of the text shows on my PC, and not the rest of the theme. -------------------

quoteYou didn't, so I don't understand what this means. Maybe you just misread my post slightly? Forget it either way, it doesn't matter. And yeah, someone has noted the issue with the PSN forum bit, but I personally don't know how to go about fixing it. Someone else will have to do it if they do. ------------------- ![]() Now check it, check it out, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, that's what he said

The theme is crap, end of story. It was fine the way it was, and this one makes the forum lag slightly when you're scrolling up and down. It's completely pointless, annoying and feels detrimental to my eyes.
If it's not broke, there's no reason to fix it, especially when so many people are against it. Think of it this way, how may people hated the theme before?
