Nah I just mean in general. Having threads for specific games kind of defeats the purpose of the game's forum. Having them in here is just taking away conversation from the game's forum. I'm gonna end up closing that thread in the Uncharted forum because it's pretty much a GD thread, but the chatter from that thread will probably end up splitting off into a number of different threads in the forum. Know what I mean?

I completely disagree with that. This forum has loads of Gen Game Discussion threads. Just check the thread index and you'll see many threads discussing a certain game. All the big releases have had an active thread here in and around the time of the games release. However as soon as the game is released the thread dies out because the games main forum is then alive and kicking. Why should Uncharted 2 be the exception just because it falls under your section? That Uncharted 2 thread would've died over the next 2 weeks once the game is released and it would've become part of this forums history just like the MGS4 thread, GTA4 thread and all the other big games that now have a thriving forum.
In fact I'd even go as far to say that those big game forums might not have become as active as they are today if they didn't have their own thread here first.

This is exactly why I put the Uncharted 2 Forum in the header of that thread to help gain the Uncharted 2 Forum more popularity. But obviously that wasn't enough for you. That TLA thread springs to mind now.

Well I do see the harm in moving it. That's almost 1 year worth of discussion history gone from this forum.
Lets also move the Gen MGS4, GTA4, FF13, GOW3 threads too while where at it. Heck, lets just move ALL the gen game threads from the index. Wouldn't want their respective mods to feel like we're stealing activity from their forum now would we?

ALL of the gen game threads in the index are dead. Why? Because their forums are active so there's no point in keeping them alive here (well either that or the game just sucks). The same would've happened with the Uncharted 2 thread.

Really?? Isn't it obvious? Gen PS3 loses a valuable thread and a good discussion while a forum in his section gets more activity.

The forum gains activity because it forces people to post there instead.

No need to to get so personal FB. Mods are human too and everyone makes mistakes. Although I'm not saying Red made a mistake because afterall he is the mod here. Maybe I'm in the wrong and moving the thread was in fact the right thing to do.
Yes I disagree with the decision too but I'm not the mod here so I can only give feedback. I'm definitely not gonna attack Red for making a decision he felt was right.
Either way it's entirely up to Red. If he wants the thread back there's nothing stopping him from asking Shane to move it back here.
