It wasn't really relevant to the forum. I suppose it's not an incredibly detailed reason, but there was another post in there as well saying the same thing. Talking about such shooter-specific things is not something we make threads for in the General PS3 forum.

The fact that it was in the wrong place is irrelavant. Yes, it was om the wrong place and had no place in this particular forum. That's not for dispute.
But the thing is, that person probably had no idea what Neoseeker was. The odds are, this was his first vist, and he probably went away thinking the site wasn't helpful. That's never a good thing for anyone. The thread should have been allowed a reasonable amount of time to allow people to answer the question, or at least set him on his way. But it was just a case of "wrong place, go away". That doesn't get anyone anywhere. | |

Bergin is right. There is a difference between a member who has amassed a couple hundred posts to a guest poster who really has no clue. And why should they? We should be the ones to direct them in the right direction.

Well, noted for next time. Even so, General PS3 isn't just an 'anything goes' forum. we do have other forums for certain things.

Bergin, Ameer I understand what you guys are saying but the thread was, in laymens terms, unanswerable. For one, he didn't note what game he was talking about and two, the thread wasn't much of help. While I do agree in a way with both of you, I thought Red 9 closure was needed cause I had no *bleep*ing clue what game he was even talking about. Was it Call of Duty, was it uncharted, was it bad company...etc. He mentioned grenades and a shooter and that's it. If it drove him away cause of a closure, maybe it'll make him think out his question including the games name next time in order for anyone to fully answer it.

It's good to see you'd take my criticism on board, Red 9. Most mods will dismiss it out of hand. Like Ameer said, my point was that you were right to close it, it just felt a little bit like a potential new member was being treated like crap, for reasons that weren't entirely clear.

Well Mnmfan was usually the technical-savvy one, and I never expected to be the only mod here, so I haven't really had the chance to really get to know that stuff. I've applied a header or two, but that's about it.

Red, you could PM one of the supers and ask them to put it in the drop down menu. but I think members of the forum should make some more and give the code to you so you can give it to the supers to add in. It's how most mods do it anyway.
