Where's my space? |
|
I've got a 60gb PS3 and I've only got 1gb free :/
I sorted through my themes/movies/demos/games and save games and there isn't many of them. I have Warhawk, Super Stardust HD, Blast Factor, MGS5 Database and Pain. Other than those I have nothing, and as you all know, all of that only equates to a couple of GB. So where the hell is all my space? :/ ------------------- "Work. It. Har.der. Make. It. Be.tter. Do. How much space to trophies take up?
And do firmware updates take up space once they've been deleted? ------------------- "Work. It. Har.der. Make. It. Be.tter. Do. It. Fas.ter. Makes. Us. Stron.ger."

Trophies hardly take up any space at all.
The main thing that will eat away your space is installs for games, check your game utility data I think it is called. The top folder in the Game tab. Games like GTA4, MGS4, GT5 Prologue all take up like 4gig or more each I think and lots of other games have pretty big installs too. ------------------- Time you enjoyed wasting is not wasted time.

quote ShaneAlmost nothing. The only thing related to trophies that gets saved on your HDD are the trophy images and the text accompanying them. And as you know those images wouldn't take up even 60kb as they are almost the same size as avatars here on Neo. Even with 1000 trophies it's hardly worth mentioning. Do you have any alternate accounts? I had 5 accounts on my old PS3 and I seemed to be always low on space even after cleaning out all the junk stuff. -------------------

I have 2 other accounts. One for the American and one for the Japanese store, then my own. I have hardly any data saved on them though. Might have a look-see again, just in case.

Well the ps3 software itself takes up a decent amount of space, then there's the game save data which adds up. Then there's music, but other than that, nothing should eat up 59 gigs so quickly. Any idea if there's a way to clear the memory?

As others have stated I would assume it's in the Game Data Utility. My 60 gig only has 8 gigs left and my 160 is already down to 82. I have a lot of music on my systems too, which takes up a lot of space.
If you store a lot of pictures on your system that can also eat away at the space. When I deleted most of my pics off of my 60gig I gained about 12 gigs of space. -------------------
