Here's a billboard spied by a NeoGAF user down in Shreveport, La..



Note the details of the frame - bombed-out gas station, prices are 80 cents higher than the area's average. This is a movie set.

The NeoGAF user (goldsoundz) who spotted this says it's in an area of Shreveport commonly used for filming movies. Other GAFfers pieced together that it's probably for an upcoming movie called Battle: Los Angeles, which is produced by - ding ding ding - Sony's Columbia Pictures. The picture's release date is February 2011.

So, this Resistance 3 billboard would be an advertisement in the film, suggesting that 2011 is when the next Res is on the way

Well, to be honest, everyone knew it was coming, they announced that it would be a trilogy. However, that picture looks like the billboard could have been randomly made by anyone. Looks kind of make-shift compared to professionally built.

But I am pretty sure Resistance is supposed to be trilogy. Nice find though.

You know I just realized something, but the actually poles and sticks holding up the signs look really weird, huh. :\

Ya, Resistance is not suppose to be colorful, it should look a little depressing in a sense. I just hope they try to innovate multiplayer greatly, keep the same track with the story because the story is pretty decent. The multiplayer may be fine for some, but we rarely here about Resistance MP compared to Killzone 2 and Killzone 2 was not the biggest online community.

They really need to revamp Resistance MP to try and set it apart from the rest.

I hope they stick with the colourful look. R1 looked horrible.

Agreed, I can't belive people are asking for less color. I mean R1 was okay, but all the settings in R2 retained the feel of a real world shooter without going the Killzone route.

By the way just because "Battle: Los Angeles" is out in 2011 doesn't mean Resistance 3 will be waiting until then to release. Resistance 3 will be out in November 2010 just like it always has been. "Battle: Los Angeles" is probably set in the present perhaps 2010 and Sony is using Resistance 3 as a cultural reference, more so the PS3 logo in the corner to show it really was set in 2010.

Actually, they could pursue a 2011 release. I always hear from people that R2 was a bit rushed, and since IG always listen to their fans they they could devote their attention to making R3 the best sequel yet.

Perhaps, though surely if Insominiac were listening to us they wouldn't be releasing Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time in a matter of weeks. It's the way Insomniac work, they seem to enjoy the challenge that in a mere year of development a game has to be made. I personally don't think Insomniac did too bad with Resistance 2, visually it did look dated though.
